Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the payables process while contributing to the success of a dynamic real estate and property company. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of accounts payable operations.

Responsibilities:
• Manage high-volume accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Code invoices appropriately and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
• Perform vendor payments through Automated Clearing House (ACH) and check runs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper account coding and compliance.
• Utilize Yardi software to oversee and streamline the accounts payable process.
• Address and resolve discrepancies in invoices and payments.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to payables.
• Develop and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency of the payables workflow.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring clear communication and payment accuracy.
• Proven experience in accounts payable operations, including invoice coding and payment processing.
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs.
• Proficiency in using Yardi software for financial management.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume transactions accurately.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills for vendor and team collaboration.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to payables.
