Catering Sales Manager


Farmers Restaurant Group is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to join our Founding Farmers Co. Catering & Events team. The right candidate is an experienced and sales driven individual to help us build our outside sales channels (focusing on both short and long-term goals), expanding our catering & special events business across the Washington, DC, Virginia, and Maryland region. This role will work closely with the Managing Partner of Catering & Special Events as well as the Managing Partner of Catering & Events. This Catering Sales Manager position is perfect for someone who loves to sell, is customer-focused, and can develop new relationships to drive new sales.


This individual will be part of a growing team where being a team player is not only important but vital to the team’s success. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, a collaborator, and someone with excellent attention to detail. They will possess a strong work ethic, have a professional & polished demeanor, and a background in sales with a proven success record.


Starting: $65K base salary + commission; Total compensation potential of $100 - $150k total based on performance

WHAT OUR CATERING SALES MANAGER SUCCESSFULLY DOES:

  • Manage all aspects of catering sales including but not limited to fielding inquiries, site visits, client meetings, developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and payment confirmation
  • Aggressively pursue building new business for the company portfolio through consistent outreach and networking
  • Strong cold calling and sales presentation skills, and ability to turn leads into sales.
  • Actively develop, manage, and maintain relationships with all clients; past, present, and future
  • Collaborate on monthly and quarterly sales goals & strategies that will be produce results to meet or exceed them
  • Produce period end reporting & a sales plan that clearly shows goals vs. actual performance
  • Provide consistently clear direction and timely communication of client needs to catering team & restaurant operators
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties and take on other assignments and special projects as needed
  • Answer assigned catering cell phone and respond in a timely manner
  • This is a full-time, commission-based position, with weekend and evening hours required as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years sales experience required; business-to-business and social catering sales with a consultative selling approach preferred.
  • Effective relationship builder with an aptitude for customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to book events, expand our catering portfolio, and close deals
  • Adaptable and capable of evolving in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for hospitality. and business development
  • High-energy self-starter capable of working independently as well as part of a team
  • Collaborative and willing to work directly with the operations & culinary teams to achieve goals
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Positive “can do” attitude and desire to be part of a growing sales team within a restaurant group
  • Strong problem solving & critical thinking skills
  • Strong office skills using Microsoft Office suite and Outlook
  • Capable of seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations
