Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Conduct machine and process capability studies; implement improvements to maximize efficiency
  • Develop, refine, and troubleshoot CNC processes, tooling, and G-code programming
  • Support APQP, FMEA, and Control Plan creation and review activities
  • Commission and validate new manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Evaluate suppliers, review technical offers, and coordinate indirect material purchases
  • Define and monitor process parameters, ensuring adherence to specifications
  • Write and maintain work instructions, training materials, and process documentation
  • Lead feasibility studies, implement new or modified process solutions, and support automation initiatives
  • Perform root cause analysis on process failures, alarms, and customer complaints
  • Participate in 8D problem-solving activities and cross-functional continuous improvement projects
  • Support robotic programming, machine controls, and automation enhancements
  • Supervise interns and train employees on new systems and processes
  • Maintain process history, automation logs, and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing (IATF environment preferred)
  • CNC turning and CAD (or other 3D modeling) experience required
  • Strong knowledge of FANUC CNC controllers (Siemens CNC preferred)
  • Experience with Swiss-style and conventional turning machines
  • Skilled in CNC program development, tooling, and interpreting gear data (CMM preferred)
  • Ability to read schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic)
  • Strong project management, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong statistical and documentation skills

Nice to Haves

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or other CI methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with robot programming and automation integration
  • Familiarity with ISO14001 and advanced quality system standards
  • Prior experience leading capital equipment commissioning or feasibility studies
