$47.50/hr - $55.00/hr
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a manufacturing company based in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a long-term contract position that offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team while overseeing critical financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial transactions.
• Lead the implementation and maintenance of processes related to deferred revenue and percentage of completion accounting.
• Supervise a team of professionals, providing guidance and support to optimize their performance.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to address and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Utilize SAP software to manage and streamline financial operations.
• Ensure adherence to financial controls and company policies.
• Support the transition period during leadership changes within the finance department.
• Provide regular reporting and analysis to inform strategic decisions.
• Proven experience in billing, collections, and deferred revenue management.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and accounting principles.
• Familiarity with SAP software is required.
• Expertise in percentage of completion accounting methodologies.
• Prior experience managing a team within a financial or accounting function.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
• Located in or willing to work in Baltimore, Maryland.
