Position Overview
CFA is seeking a part-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join its Urgent Crisis Center team in New London, CT. The provider will deliver high-quality, onsite psychiatric care to children and youth ages 4–18 in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting.
The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM–10:00 PM, with an optional Saturday shift from 10:00 AM–6:00 PM. The minimum 20-hour weekly schedule qualifies for health benefits, with expanded benefits available at 30+ hours.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and clinical assessments for children and adolescents.
Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications as clinically indicated.
Participate in multidisciplinary team rounds, crisis interventions, and discharge planning.
Document care accurately and efficiently using eClinicalWorks (eCW).
Ensure compliance with appropriate billing and documentation standards.
Contribute to agency-wide quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
Support marketing and statewide advocacy efforts as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
PMHNP certification and current RN and APRN licenses in the State of Connecticut.
At least 1 year of post-graduate experience working with child/adolescent psychiatric populations (2+ years preferred for those seeking independent practice without a CPA).
APRNs licensed fewer than 3 years in Connecticut must maintain a Collaborative Practice Agreement (CPA) or be registered for independent practice with the CT Department of Public Health.

After-Hours Expectations
After-hours on-call coverage is telephone-only and occurs very infrequently. All calls are initially screened by Clinical Directors, and APRNs are only contacted when absolutely necessary.
