Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a trusted advisor to managers and employees across the organization, with a primary focus on employee relations, policy development, and compliance. This role ensures that employee issues are addressed proactively, policies are clearly communicated and consistently applied, and workplace practices align with legal requirements and organizational values.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including performance concerns, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
  • Provide consultation and coaching on employee performance, behavior, engagement, and team dynamics.
  • Lead or support internal investigations, ensuring fair and timely resolution of workplace issues and appropriate documentation.
  • Review and update personnel policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA).
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of policies across departments and regions.
  • Support the progressive discipline process and make recommendations based on policy, past practice, and legal risk.
  • Monitor workplace trends and employee feedback to identify opportunities for improved culture, engagement, and retention.
  • Conduct and analyze exit interviews, identifying themes and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Partner with HR leadership to develop and implement training on workplace policies, respectful workplace practices, and manager expectations.
  • Stay current on employment legislation, best practices, and HR trends and make proactive recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records in compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Ownership of compliance reporting such as EEO, OSHA, and internal audits.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Labor & Employee Relations, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Advanced HR certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR

Required:

Experience Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
  • Direct experience handling employee relations issues, including investigations, performance management, and disciplinary actions
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA)
  • Experience interpreting and applying company policies and employment regulations
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems; ability to manage confidential employee data
  • Experience with compliance reporting (e.g., EEO, OSHA)

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-state operations
  • Prior experience in a hybrid or field-based HR role
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now
  • Demonstrated success leading or supporting policy development and rollout
  • Experience designing or delivering manager training on employee relations topics

Salary Range

USD $85,000.00 - USD $105,000.00 /Yr.
