We are currently recruiting for an Internal Medicine Physician with Infectious Disease experience, training and/or interest to work with our adult and Ryan White populations. This role will be primarily general adult medicine with some infectious disease patients. We are flexible regarding full or part time.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Specializes in the prevention and treatment of communicable diseases.
Ensures proper disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition.
Consult with primary care physician
Documents all services in patient medical record
Consults with Chief Medical Officer and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues
Comply with the Infection Control plan which includes personally utilizing universal precautions. Ensure compliance by support staff.
Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic requirements
Participates in Peer Review and directs review of HIV patient’s medical care
Additional General Requirements
Professional positive attitude, vision, understanding of customer service principals, trustworthiness, and excellent interpersonal skills to successfully accomplish tasks necessary to meet high standards of ethical and social responsibility required by this position.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
EDUCATION: Medical degree in medicine from an accredited school and licensed to practice in Connecticut, Two-year fellowship in infectious diseases, minimum two years of direct patient care.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Current D.E.A. and State Controlled Substance Certificate, Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Malpractice Eligible, Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR), Final certification exam through the ABIM upon completion of 2-year fellowship in infectious diseases. CPR certification required upon hire and recertification bi-annually.
