Lead Accountant, Indirect Tax

A leading national security government contractor with a strong market presence is seeking a hands-on accounting expert to take ownership of tax, audit, and special projects in a fast-moving, high-impact environment.

In this role you’ll be the go-to resource for complex accounting tasks—managing everything from multi-jurisdictional tax filings (State and Local Tax) to month-end close, supporting annual audits, and partnering with leadership on strategic initiatives. You’ll also work closely with external CPA firms ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely deliverables. This is a Lead position that would be considered a highly visible individual contributor role.

You bring:

• 5+ years of accounting experience (corporate or public)
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and corporate tax requirements
• Excel mastery; Unanet or Deltek a plus
• Ability to work independently and research complex issues
• Must be a US citizen. While a clearance is not required, the ability to obtain a clearance in the future must be possible.
