Base pay range
$22.00/hr - $26.00/hr
Primary Responsibility
Under general supervision works independently performing routine general maintenance and repair throughout the warehouse. Must be proficient in the troubleshooting and repair of a variety of building systems and equipment.
Essential Functions
Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot a variety of building systems and equipment which includes HVAC, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, dock doors, levelers and locks.
Assemble, install and maintain mechanical systems, machinery and equipment.
Understand preventative maintenance strategies such as regularly inspecting and maintaining equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, air compressors and fire systems.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members, supervisors and customers.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service logs and document work performed utilizing the (CMMS) Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Inspects forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operation standards.
Maintain batteries and chargers and ensure items work in accordance with the OSHA standards.
Perform maintenance related job assignments and complete any daily incoming work requests.
Ability to operate maintenance diagnostics equipment such as both analog and digital multi-meters, pyrometers, phot-tachometer, refractometer, hydrometer etc.
Qualifications & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
3 years’ maintenance experience
Some formal MHE technical training, such as Hyster, Crown, Toyota, or Raymond, preferred. Strong Work Experience will be considered in lieu of Training Courses during the initial hiring process.
Knowledge of various types of equipment in maintenance trades.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Mathematical and documentation skills necessary.
Ability to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Proficient use of testing equipment.
Must be able to work flexible shifts if required, including on call.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose down to the component level on all material handling equipment.
Share knowledge, train and support the development of others.
Physical Requirements
May be required to work inside controlled temperature warehouse of –20 degrees
Frequently required to stand; walk; push; pull; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; and crouch
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to use hand and power tools.
Able to work nights and weekends.
