This position requires candidate to function as a Medical Assistant to the MAT prescribers, Psychiatric Nurse Practioner and RN Care Manager taking vitals, urinalysis for drug testing, documenting results in EMR and collaborating with MAT RN and prescribers about clients. Candidate will observe MAT clients for UTOXes. Candidate must be able to exercise independent ethically sound judgment in carrying out work assignments as well as work as a part of a Multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the RN Care Manager. Candidate must maintain professional and respectful boundaries with all clients and staff at all times.
Minimum Requirements
Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
Certification as Medical Assistant.
Basic understanding of addiction and co-occurring disorders treatment.
One-year experience as a Medical Assistant.
Able to work with clients and staff in a non-judgmental, respectful and empathetic manner.
Excellent interpersonal and professional skills required for working with clients and staff.
Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to document activities in English in a concise and accurate manner in the EMR.
Good decision making and organizational skills.
Strong computer skills.
Must be willing to train further as Department Director and Supervisor deem necessary for effective interventions in the MAT Program.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
Check schedule for clients who have arrived, show them to the bathroom and observe Males for urine testing.
Test urine sample and document on paper and in EPIC, having client sign paper.
Be able to converse with clients warmly and non-judgmentally about their UTOX results and other concerns.
Alert MAT RN and Psychiatric NP of client's readiness for their session.
Familiarity with community resources to assist those with a serious mental illness, substance use disorder.
Provide all Medical Assistant duties for clients to support and collaborate with the MAT RN and Prescriber and document appropriately in the EMR.
Maintain appropriate sanitation procedures in the Lab. Keep Lab stocked with forms and equipment.
Order Lab supplies when needed.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to use a computer workstation and document in an Electronic Health Record.
This position requires the willingness to accomplish tasks not listed on this job description as needed to support the mission of Caring Health Center and the Behavioral Health Dept.
