This firm is a small, fully remote CPA firm led by a hands-on owner who values autonomy and people over rigid structure. With a team of just under 10 and clients across a variety of industries, they offer tax, monthly accounting, and payroll services to small businesses. The firm is growing steadily and looking to bring on a Tax Manager or CPA who can lead, review, and help develop the team.
While the work is remote, they’re looking for someone based in the DMV area or just outside (the owner, is in Frederick, MD) for the occasional in-person meeting (once every other month or so). The role offers full flexibility, if you need to take a break mid-morning for a kid’s dentist appointment or prefer to work evenings, that’s completely fine. The focus is on trust and accountability, not micromanagement.
The role includes:
70–80% review, 20–30% prep
Managing and mentoring two junior staff
Handling S corps, LLCs, individuals, and some C corps
Light client check-ins
