Overview
This Warehouse and Logistics Manager collaborates across departments and jobsites to enhance material storage and logistics, implements strategies to minimize material risk, and continuously improves purchasing, warehousing, and logistics processes. Additionally, the Warehouse and Logistics Manager focuses on aligning procurement with partners to reduce supply chain costs, oversees inventory management, trains logistics teams, and establishes strategic partnerships for efficient project execution
Essential Functions
This Warehouse and Logistics Manager collaborates across departments and jobsites to enhance material storage and logistics, implements strategies to minimize material risk, and continuously improves purchasing, warehousing, and logistics processes. Additionally, the Warehouse and Logistics Manager focuses on aligning procurement with partners to reduce supply chain costs, oversees inventory management, trains logistics teams, and establishes strategic partnerships for efficient project execution
Essential Functions
- Strategic Planning and Process Improvement: 30%
- Collaborates with departments, jobsites, and other key stakeholders to identify areas of improvement regarding material storage, logistics, and material management.
- Develops and implements strategies to reduce material risk and shrinkage on jobsites.
- Identifies and drives continuous improvement opportunities to streamline processes for purchasing, warehousing, logistics, and vendors.
- Aligns procurement and logistics processes with distribution and manufacturing partners to reduce overall supply chain cost.
- Plans and implements supply chain optimization projects throughout the company.
- Utilizes Lean and Kaizen principles in the warehouse and on projects to add value and increase profitability.
- Develops, documents, and trains on standard operating procedures for the warehousing and logistics group.
- Management and Oversight: 60%
- Maintains KPIs for warehousing, logistics, and inventory management.
- Communicates with Project Design and Manufacturing teams to ensure adequate inventory levels to reduce production risk.
- Manages the material segment of the PACK process.
- Oversees all warehousing, logistics, and inventory management processes.
- Develops and trains jobsite logistics teams on material receiving, tool management, and material handling best practices on assigned projects.
- Tracks and reports financial metrics for the group to company leadership.
- Fosters strategic partnerships with vendors and manufacturers on high-profile projects.
- Ensures standard operating procedures are followed and daily tasks are completed within the warehouse and logistics group.
- Monitors all inbound and outbound deliveries and maintains accurate records and tracking of materials and prefabricated products.
- Assigns projects and delegates tasks to Jobsite Logistics Coordinators to drive implementation of standard operating procedures for logistics teams on projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned. 10%
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Distribution or Supply Chain Management and 3-5 years of experience in logistics, warehouse, sourcing, or supply chain environment OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or certification required.
- Experience with implementing Lean and Kaizen principles required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform Software Suite preferred.
- Able to learn and use related software and systems as required.
- Able to set priorities and work in high production environment while responding quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities, and tight timelines/deadlines.
- Able to interact with internal and external customers and vendors.
- Office environment with some travel required.
- Must be able to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; must be able to reach with hands and arms. Manual dexterity associated with computer data entry required.
- Must be able to talk and hear.
- Must be able to frequently sit.
- Must be able to occasionally stand, walk, climb, balance, crouch or crawl, stoop, and kneel.
- Must be able to safely operate a vehicle to travel to and from job sites.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to safely maneuver in a construction environment.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception are required.
