📢 Sharing this late but glad to share that a research paper I co-authored titled “Bone Health AI Suite for Automatic Bone Healthcare Analysis” was published a while ago at the 2025 12th International Conference on Computing for Sustainable Global Development (INDIACom), IEEE Delhi. This paper presents our work on BoneHealth AI Suite, which integrates three AI-powered modules: 🔹 Bone Fracture Detection using ResNet18 with 99.36% accuracy. 🔹 Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Prediction with Gradient Boosting, achieving R² of 99% (train) and 86% (test). 🔹 Knee Joint Osteoarthritis Severity Grading with ResNet18, reaching 96.38% accuracy and later we added 5 more models to this project which all got validated by respective medical professionals. By combining powerful Gen AI, CNN models for image classification and regression models for clinical data, the suite demonstrates how AI can be applied effectively to assist in bone healthcare analysis. Cheers to my co-authors Kanchan Dhuri, PRAVEEN SONESHA, and Vishal Devkate for their contribution and collaboration on this journey. Daily AI Insights - News 🧠 ✨️ Imperial College London researchers have unveiled an AI-powered stethoscope that can detect major heart conditions within seconds, dramatically outperforming traditional methods 🔍The study: • The card-sized device was tested in 200 doctors’ offices with more than 12,000 patients • Results showed double the detection rate for heart failure, along with a 3.5x increase in identifying atrial fibrillation and nearly 2x higher diagnosis rates for valve disease • Unlike a conventional stethoscope, the device not only listens but also captures ECG readings while AI algorithms analyze heartbeat patterns and blood flow variations too subtle for the human ear • Waveform data from thousands of patient recordings is processed in the cloud, flagging at-risk patients in seconds 🗝 Why its important: The AI stethoscope is poised for rollout across the UK, transforming one of medicine’s most iconic tools—largely unchanged since the 1800s—into a proactive diagnostic powerhouse. By enabling faster, earlier detection, it has the potential to save countless lives and reduce the strain on healthcare systems. 🔗 British Heart Foundation - https://lnkd.in/ee6XrCSu #RepresentAI #DailyAIInsights #Medicine #Healthcare

Machine-learning tool gives doctors a more detailed 3D picture of fetal health | MIT News MIT researchers have introduced "Fetal SMPL," a machine-learning tool designed to produce precise 3D models of fetal development using MRI data. Trained on 20,000 scans, it accurately predicts fetal size, shape, and movement, enabling clinicians to identify potential abnormalities with unprecedented clarity. Unlike traditional 2D ultrasounds and limited 3D MRI interpretations, Fetal SMPL overcomes challenges stemming from the fetus's constrained environment, offering accurate alignment and measurements. This groundbreaking approach has the potential to revolutionize prenatal diagnostics, paving the way for more detailed assessments of fetal health. As AI continues to enhance healthcare, advancements like these remind us of technology's transformative power. Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/eftqwaGq What are your thoughts on this? An AI stethoscope just diagnosed heart failure in 15 seconds. Doctors at Imperial College London just tested an AI-powered stethoscope that may change medicine forever. In a trial with 12,000 patients: ✅ It doubled the diagnosis rate for heart failure. ✅ It tripled detection of atrial fibrillation. ✅ It spotted valve disease in 15 seconds. The device, built by Eko Health, listens to the heart, records sound + ECG data, uploads to the cloud, and returns results instantly to a smartphone. Well, this is no longer science fiction. This is 12,000 real patients in the NHS system. Here’s the uncomfortable truth: If an AI stethoscope is already outperforming traditional diagnosis, other traditional roles in medicines that were deemed impossible to be replaced will get replaced. But hopefully, more doctors and all healthcare workers will be fully prepared to embrace A.I and technology for the advancement of patients health. 💬 What do you think? Personally, I don't think A.I will easily replace humans who are doctors and healthcare workers. 📊 Data + AI Prediction: The Global Shift Against Overuse of Scans & Surgeries 🤖 When we analyse healthcare data across the last 30 years, a clear pattern emerges: 📈 Medical scans (CT, MRI, PET) usage has increased by >250% in many Western countries. 💸 Yet complications from radiation exposure and unnecessary surgeries have also grown. ⚠️ WHO & independent research warn that up to 30% of global surgeries are “unnecessary” or “avoidable.” 🌍 Countries Already Taking Action (Observed Data): India 🇮🇳 – Suspended certain nuclear scans until safety checks. Germany/EU 🇪🇺 – Rejected unsafe full-body scanners and raised privacy/health concerns. African Nations 🌍 – Reducing reliance on Western surgical models, focusing on prevention & community medicine. Iran 🇮🇷 – Limited imports of expensive Western imaging technologies. 🤖 AI Forecast (Next 10 Years): 40% probability that more nations in Asia & Africa will regulate scans due to radiation risks. 65% probability of global policy shifts toward prevention-first medicine, reducing surgical dependency. 80% probability of people-led demand for affordable, traditional, and safer treatments — challenging profit-driven hospital models. ⚡ Why It’s Not Good to Depend Solely on Scans & Surgeries: Health outcomes don’t improve proportionally with technology usage. Costs rise, but long-term healing is often neglected. Over-medicalisation leads to chronic patient dependency instead of empowerment. 📢 Global People’s Movement Needed: Data shows the trend. AI predicts the future. Now, people across nations must unite for a healthcare model based on: ✔️ Prevention ✔️ Safety ✔️ Traditional & affordable healing ✔️ Transparency over profit 🔎 Resources & References: World Health Organization (WHO) – Global Health Estimates OECD Health Data – Imaging and Surgery Statistics NIH (National Institutes of Health) – Unnecessary Surgery Report PubMed/PMC – Radiation Risks of Medical Imaging European Parliament – Ban on Full Body Scanners (2011) ScienceDirect – Overuse of Diagnostic Imaging & Radiation Exposure #AI #DataAnalysis #GlobalHealth #HealthTech #MedicalEthics #PatientSafety #Scans #Surgeries #PublicHealth #HealthAwareness #HealthcarePrediction

AI doesn’t fail at math. It fails at the handoff. #AIinPractice 📊 A recent JAMA Network Open study tested AI-generated emergency handoff notes. The findings? AI notes were faster and more consistent—but also introduced omissions and logical gaps that required clinician review (News-Medical summary https://lnkd.in/eafsQ-48 ) In cardiology, where a “handoff” might include data like a patient’s ejection fraction, important findings like rhythm changes, or essential symptoms like new chest pain, these gaps are not trivial—they can shape outcomes. ✅ But there are good models emerging. At NYU Langone, GPT-4 was used to draft patient-friendly explanations of echocardiogram reports. Every draft went through board-certified cardiologist review before being shared. The result? Patients got clearer reports, and physicians saved time—all while preserving safety (NYU Langone https://lnkd.in/eiH4QTkM ). 🔑 Lesson: AI can accelerate the work, but the handoff must be designed for human review. 👉 For health systems: Measure not just efficiency gains, but also outcomes in transitions of care. Build in checkpoints, standardized templates, and clinician oversight. That’s where equity and safety are tested, and where patients feel the difference. #HeartHealth #DigitalHealth #CareEverywhere #PatientSafety
