On July 23rd, the White House released America's AI Action Plan. Of particular note were the sections regarding the promotion of rapid buildouts of data centers as well as the goal of removing onerous Federal regulations that can hinder AI development and deployment. AI systems are only as good as the data they’re trained on. Without high-quality and well-structured data, AI cannot function effectively resulting in poorly made biased decisions, or worse- failure altogether. Adequate data center capacity and ease of data acquisition would ease some of the challenges; however, not answer all the obstacles when it comes to data inputs into AI models. At ANDECO Institute, our team stands ready to guide USG groups through the nuances of data analysis to drive unbiased data purchase recommendations in an efficient way through the use of unique contracting vehicles. #data #AI #guidance https://lnkd.in/ewxX4fAF

AI in the public sector isn’t theory anymore — it’s practice. 🌍⚙️ Around the world, real systems are live and shaping outcomes. Let’s look at what governments are actually doing 👇 🇨🇦 Canada → Every federal automated decision system must go through the Algorithmic Impact Assessment (AIA) 📝. Higher-risk projects need peer review, transparency reports, and public disclosure. 📘 Canada also launched its AI Strategy for the Federal Public Service 2025-2027, covering procurement, ethics, bias checks, and Indigenous Data Sovereignty. 🇸🇬 Singapore → Deploying citizen-facing AI services with strong governance frameworks 🏢. 🇺🇸 US → Released the AI Accountability Playbook this summer 📑, guiding federal agencies on risk, transparency, and audits. 🌐 Studies (OECD, Springer, Global Government Forum) show the same pattern: where external accountability is strong, trust goes up. Where it’s weak, adoption stalls. 🚦 💡 The biggest difference between “AI policy on paper” and “AI in practice” is external accountability. Without independent audits + citizen visibility, frameworks are just promises. ⚡ Pro tip: Before any public AI system goes live, demand: 1️⃣ A plain-language summary of the AIA so citizens can actually understand it. 2️⃣ Independent oversight — not just internal checks. 3️⃣ A feedback loop so people can challenge or appeal AI-assisted decisions. 📚 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gm5Zpczx 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gXDXsPTM 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g4DPCe3m #AI #MachineLearning #GenerativeAI #PublicSectorAI #CaseStudies #AIGovernance #Transparency #AIforGood

It was a pleasure to be invited to the AI-Enabled Policymaking (AIPP) workshop, which formed the basis for this excellent report. The report highlights how today’s AI tools can support policymaking - through drafting, summarization, and brainstorming - while also underscoring key bottlenecks such as model limitations, user skill gaps, and legal/privacy challenges. Looking ahead, it explores the emerging needs for future AI systems in the policy space, emphasizing the importance of implementation considerations such as transparency, trust, responsible adoption, and the development of government-tailored tools. Thanks to RAND, The Stimson Center, and Tony Blair Institute for Global Change for the workshop and the report. https://lnkd.in/eEHYq9A8
