A study in JAMA Network Open found that ambient documentation technology (AI-drafted notes) reduced clinician burnout and improved well-being. At Mass General Brigham, burnout dropped 21.2%. At Emory, documentation-related well-being rose 30.7%. Clinicians also reported better clinic and patient experiences—underscoring ADT’s potential to ease documentation burden and strengthen well-being. But AI in documentation isn’t just about efficiency. It’s about reshaping the clinician experience and redefining how we spend time with patients. The question is no longer if it will transform care, but how we guide its integration responsibly. What’s your perspective?
