Post-acquisition integrations are notoriously tough. Different cultures, systems, priorities, and sometimes, egos often stand in the way of success. It’s rare that a deal turns into something more than just a transaction. But every now and then, you get lucky. This photo captures one of those rare moments: dinner last night with Mateo and Michael in NYC. I look at this pic and see co-founders and colleagues who have been blessed to become true partners and friends. Since joining forces, the integration between CookUnity and Cookin Inc. has been the opposite of typical: Instead of friction, we’ve found our vibe; and instead of compromise, we found deep collaboration. 1 + 1 has genuinely equaled 3, if not more.
