The most exciting part of agentic AI isn’t the technology itself. It’s what it frees people to do, from catching defects in real time to giving teams hours back by automating documentation. In my conversations with customers, the question has already shifted. It’s no longer "if," but "how?" How do we redesign work when intelligent agents can reason, adapt, and act across complex systems? We’re already seeing the impact. Defect detection that once took hours now happens instantly. Documentation cycles that stretched over days are finished in minutes. Even sales prospecting is being completely reimagined. The organizations realizing the most value aren’t simply switching on new technology. They’re rethinking workflows, putting people at the center, and leading with strategy, not just tools. This is where leadership matters. The companies that move early and responsibly won't just see efficiency gains—they'll set the standard and help shape the future of their industries. Interesting read from McKinsey & Company on how advanced industries are embracing agentic AI: https://lnkd.in/ecaDKkaA
Thanks for sharing, Deb! Loved the McKinsey white paper. Another fantastic read on the subject of how to to drive quick value turnaround on AI investments by Tom Davenport that makes complete sense to me: https://hbr.org/2025/09/how-to-make-enterprise-gen-ai-work
Awesome read, Deb. I love how much this mirrors the Fast Company piece shared by Kim Akers on “abundant leadership.” Both point to the same truth: the real power of agentic AI isn’t the tech, it’s freeing people to focus on higher-value work. When leaders put people at the center, it unlocks creativity, strategy, and new ways of leading. https://www.fastcompany.com/91400433/the-future-of-leadership-is-abundant-redefining-disruption-in-an-ai-world
Nice article Deb. We live in a volatile, uncertain, chaotic and amgious world. 100 % that Leadership that drives pragmatic metrics, safe environments of creation and optimism to try and fail without fear is our path forward.
To be real, most of these things have been done for a very long time (e.g. visual defect detection, fraud detection) using AI in a variety of ways - is it really helpful to now just slap a new name/meme on existing stuff and call it "Agentic". I don't think so.
Well said, Deb. What excites me most is seeing teams that don't just restructure workflows, but actually implement agentic AI into existing ones, giving people more time for mission-critical work without a complete overhaul of their daily routines.
Agentic AI is very exciting for sure! Agree that customers are ready to discuss "how" to advance their business.
I love this post! Very timely too. While every industry is being transformed by Agentic AI, the #Insurance industry in particular is facing a transformational moment. In my recent article (https://www.linkedin.com/posts/1vishnu-raghavan_transforming-insurance-with-power-platform-activity-7374506824475127808-IgpC), I connected the dots by drawing insights from McKinsey, BCG and how consumers feel about insurance processing times.
The shift from “if” to “how” is the real turning point. The organizations seeing the most impact are not just adopting AI but rethinking processes, aligning with strategy, and keeping people at the center. Leadership that moves with both speed and responsibility will shape not only their companies’ future, but the industry standard.
Leaders who rethink workflows and put people at the center aren’t just gaining efficiency—they’re shaping how entire industries work.

1wI would go one step further - the companies that don't fundamentally shift toward enabling agentic will get left behind due to the nature of how agentic has a compounding effect as more use cases go live. This makes speed even more critical.
