When higher ed leaders talk about AI, the focus often stops at efficiency: automating grading, streamlining workflows, saving staff time. Important, yes — but incomplete. If efficiency is the end goal, we risk overlooking AI’s most transformative potential: building connection and belonging. 💞 What if AI could 🦾 Proactively match learners with peers and mentors who share goals? 🦾 Help faculty practice tough conversations in a safe environment? 🦾 Surface global, cross-cultural collaboration opportunities that might never happen otherwise? AI isn’t here to replace human relationships. It’s here to strengthen them. AI in Higher Ed - 📣 Take Note 📣 "The 95% failure rate in corporate AI should terrify higher education leaders. It should also guide them." The good news - AI literacy is going mainstream in higher ed like wildfire! The not so good news is that AI literacy initiatives are not a build it online and they shall come scenario. Fear of AI is too high and trust is too low. AI literacy investments in higher education have been top of news in CA recently. But, like a football game - the funding announcements are the kick-off. What about the strategy, plan and expected deliverables to ordinary people? Without a strategy, announcements are just that without a touchdown. Who is held accountable? Integrating AI literacy in education or any other sector requires strategy, training and implementation across your ecosystem. Beware - posting free content online will not necessarily improve AI literacy rates or safe adoption of AI tools. It all begins with understanding AI basic for everyone from CEO to line employees and students. "...the main obstacle to AI in corporate settings is not the quality of the AI models themselves, but poor integration of AI tools into business environments." “The GenAIDivide: State of AI in Business 2025,” prepared by MIT’s NANDA initiative, found that only about 5% of AI pilot programs achieve “rapid revenue acceleration,” and that the vast majority have little or no impact on corporate income. The same could be true for Higher Ed. Check out the piece below. AIandYou Forbes #aiineducation #aiinhighered #ailiteracyonline https://lnkd.in/gT9-JVEA

AI companies are now offering free subscriptions to students. At first glance, it feels generous, even revolutionary. But the truth is, they are making business decisions by understanding the sheer volume of this market. My point of concern is: how is it going to reflect in our Educational System? 🤔 I recently read an article from the World Economic Forum 👉 How do we align the business of GenAI with educational goals? The article rightly proposes that we must prioritize the process of learning over the product of learning. AI makes all solutions and information fast and readily accessible. We may get everything we ask for—but not necessarily what we truly need. This is why I believe education now needs a visionary reset. 🌍 For too long, education has been reduced to certificates, grades, and routines. Imagine classrooms where children step beyond walls to learn from people and places—where they touch and smell the world, breathe in its culture, and explore science and technology through their hands. Instead of rote memorization, learners would be challenged to think, create, and solve—skills the century desperately needs. Education would not stop at careers, but stretch into life skills also.. Well-being too must move to the center—mental, emotional, and physical health forming the foundation of growth, not an afterthought. 💡 Yes, technology will play its role. GenAI, too, is here to stay. But rather than becoming a shortcut, it must be introduced as a tool of wisdom—with context, ethics, and perspective. Students should learn to use it thoughtfully, not lean on it blindly. This is the right time to bring pedagogical change, assessment redesign, and new learning experiences into education. If we can incorporate multiple intelligence models into our systems, it would limit AI dependency. Let students learn more through their senses, analyze without traditional exams, engage in real-time intellectual interactions, and showcase their outcomes through amazing thoughts, products, and services. I always love this quote of Plutarch: “The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.” 🔥 And education should be… a fire to be kindled, not a vessel to be filled. Right...? #Education #AIinEducation #FutureOfLearning #EdTech #GenAI #Pedagogy Ref: https://lnkd.in/gEP2rWJz

"Educators prepare every generation to meet the future — and today, they're shaping how AI becomes a tool for confidence, creativity and critical thinking," said Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft.
