WaterJAM 2025 is an opportunity to redefine wastewater treatment. Gross-Wen Technologies is bringing our patented Revolving Algal Biofilm (RAB™) system to the conference to show how algae can be used to treat wastewater, recover valuable nutrients, and reduce a plant’s carbon footprint. Our V.P. of Business Development, @Steve Wirtel, is ready to discuss how our sustainable, low-energy solution can help your facility meet increasingly stringent discharge limits and lower operational costs. Want to learn how we can help your facility? Schedule a meeting with Steve at the conference to discuss your specific challenges: https://lnkd.in/gGjyFyz5 #WaterJAM2025 #Wastewater #algae

🔬 Excited to share a glimpse of my ongoing research on fluoride removal from drinking water using a low-cost, sustainable filtration column. The setup you see here is a fixed-bed filtration column packed with three natural layers: ✅ Gravel – to provide structural support and initial sediment removal. ✅ Sand – to filter suspended particles and turbidity. ✅ Wood-derived biochar – acting as the key adsorbent to capture and remove excess fluoride ions. This simple but effective system is designed to mimic real-world point-of-use water treatment, especially for communities facing fluoride contamination issues in groundwater. The inclusion of biochar, a carbon-rich material made from waste biomass, makes the process cost-effective, eco-friendly, and sustainable. 🌍 The goal is to develop affordable solutions that can improve access to safe drinking water in fluoride-affected regions. Always open to discussions, collaborations, and insights on biochar applications, adsorption studies, and sustainable water treatment technologies. #WaterTreatment #Biochar #Sustainability #FluorideRemoval #ResearchInnovation

#Biochar #Soilfertility #Carbonsequestration #Soilmanagement #Sustainableagriculture #Soilremediation #Climateresilience Highlights •Biochar modifies soil physicochemical properties, including porosity, bulk density, pH, and cation exchange capacity. •Soil microbial biomass, enzymatic activity, and nutrient cycling efficiency increase under biochar amendment. •Field-level application outcomes depend on feedstock, pyrolysis conditions, soil type, and climate. •Economic cost, operational challenges, and lack of policy incentives remain major barriers to adoption. #TechDay revolves around a few wastewater scientists in Brazil who utilized YSI, Inc.'s Pro1020 handheld system to help measure DO and pH in their MLSS. The last line of their abstract highlights their findings: The results reveal that the duration of the anaerobic period significantly influences bioresource production, emphasizing the importance of defining optimal operational conditions for efficient resource recovery in wastewater treatment. https://lnkd.in/gB6633PX

What We Can Solve: Sludge Accumulation In wastewater treatment, sludge is more than just a byproduct it’s a hidden cost monster, eating up 40–60% of operating costs. Disposal challenges, environmental norms, and compliance issues make it even harder for plants to cope. That’s where BioEzy makes the difference. By harnessing specialized Bacillus biocultures, BioEzy reduces sludge right at the source, improving digester stability and treatment efficiency. ✅ 25–40% less sludge volume ✅ Lower hauling & dewatering costs ✅ Better digester stability ✅ Higher efficiency When BioEzy leads, wastewater problems get solved. 🌍💧 🔜 Stay tuned for the next part of our What We Can Solve series tackling Ammonia, COD/BOD, FOG, Sulphides, and even Textile Dyes. #WastewaterTreatment #Biotechnology #BioEzy #Zytex #SludgeReduction #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #WaterInnovation #EnvironmentalSolutions #STP #ETP #BetterTechnologyBetterWorld
