Customer stories are the most powerful part of B2B marketing. I may have found the best example EVER. Remember when we all got excited because we thought Zuora had the best sales deck ever? I feel like I found it's customer marketing mate. GoDaddy didn’t just tell us what their AI product can do. They showed us with a cultural moment and a real business. The fast summary: 1. A celebrity (Walton Goggins from White Lotus) launched a real brand. 2. GoDaddy’s AI tools powered it end-to-end. 3. The Super Bowl ad brought it to the world. 4. And Cannes Lions named it the best of B2B. And I want to know if you've seen better. :) I had the honor of writing about it for Carilu Dietrich. Link in comments. Infographic via The Work.
Totally agree and good article. but it’s 💰💰💰 and very hard for companies with less than 1.5b market caps to achieve. No startup could raise its voice this loud. GoDaddy spent $70.8 million on national TV commercials and $112 million on digital ads in a recent year. ~$200m without mentioning the rest of marketing which was another 200m. But the point is still valid. If you have the 💰💰💰 spend it on telling memorable stories. 👏👏👏
Such a great campaign and a fantastic write up in the newsletter, Maria. Just had all the stars align for this one.
Hard to execute successfully, but when it is, storytelling is THE secret sauce for B2B marketing. Great example, thanks for sharing!
Agree, this one is really good!
I remember the first time I saw the ad and thought.....WOW!!!
This is amazing… if I had a multi-million dollar marketing budget to do it too 🙃
I hadn’t seen this ad, it and the entire campaign is amazing. Smart concept excellently executed, I am wowed.
Is a really great article well written hits the right point and also conveys the value of storytelling taken to the next level
Absolutely brilliant execution. Turning a product demo into a cultural moment is B2B storytelling at its finest.
