Pain is invisible, yet it’s one of the most critical clinical symptoms. 🔎 - To turn subjective experiences into measurable data, healthcare relies on validated pain scales. - From quick ratings like NRS (0–10) to comprehensive tools like the Brief Pain Inventory, each scale serves a purpose: ✔️ NRS & VAS → reliable for most clinical settings ✔️ VRS → simple when clarity matters ✔️ BPI → best for understanding pain’s full impact Each scale has strengths and limits—choosing the right one depends on the patient and context. - At Painsense, we’re building tools that go beyond numbers, making pain assessment more accurate, objective, and human-centered. _ 📚 Source: Objective Pain Assessment: A Key for the Management of Chronic Pain – NCBI/PMC _ #PainSense #painsense_ca #painassessment #painmanagement #healthcareinnovation #chronicpain #digitalhealth #medicalinnovation

This is an excerpt from one of my recent reviews, and a common scenario with low back pain clients who have previously "been through it". People often go (or referred inappropriately) from clinical department to department, or try out endless "treatments" in the hope of fixing low back pain. The cause must be treat, not the symptom. Clearly that message is not getting through into the mainstream. Most low back pain falls outside the realm of a medical diagnosis, and this area shockingly makes up between 85% to 95% of instances. Structured physical activity is usually the order of the day, correcting movement dysfunction and working on the body as a whole. Not just where it hurts! The first port of call should always be your doctor if you have concerns about back pain. This should then lead to the correct pathway. #lowbackpain #communication
