Dear Founders: Your SaaS App Without AI - Is Someone Else’s Feature In 2008, SaaS meant forms and dashboards. In 2025, it means agents that act. Here’s the shift - Enterprise software used to be a stack: *Systems of Record *Systems of Intelligence *Systems of Action But AI-native products collapse layers. Intelligence and action are now the same system. Your product shouldn't just visualize. It should decide, act and Learn. 🕶️ That’s the new expectation. And the stack underneath is changing too: MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets agents talk, reason, and coordinate. Nanda (from MIT) reimagines DNS—not as an address book, but as a directory of who can get things done. This is a shift just like mobile or cloud—but deeper. If you’re still shipping forms, someone else is shipping the agent that bypasses them. This isn’t criticism. It’s a love letter to builders. You’re not late. But you need to ship faster. 👇Read about it below. Love this. If SaaS is becoming an agentic-driven loop, does this introduce a system of control as well? Rikki Khanna I think you should read this.
Paul, Thanks this is a really good read. Roger
100% Paul Palmieri. Dashboards and 'insights' will continue to exist but as the transition to agentic accelerates, more of the 'jobs to be done' will be done by agents driven by human prompts. Those agents (and agents of agents, thus MCP) will not only provide insights and data, but will also execute the actions to improve processes.
Powerful message, Paul. Thank you for illustrating how AI is collapsing the traditional software stack—it's a timely reminder for founders to rethink their value proposition in this new era of intelligent agents.
So true.
doing it!
