Copilot in SharePoint: Empowering Developers, Accelerating Workflows Microsoft is steadily integrating AI into the modern workplace, and Copilot in SharePoint is one of the examples of how technology is helping us work smarter. Since the official rollout in 2023, one question has become the central "How does Copilot change the way we build SharePoint solutions?" How Copilot Empowers Developers? Copilot is all about content creation and discoverability. It can * Draft site pages * Suggest layout ideas * Generate summaries * Reformat content with prompts However, it doesn’t replace information architecture or governance, but it helps users create pages and sites faster, with less reliance on IT. For developers, this means: * More focus on structured metadata - Because good input gives good AI output. * New extension points for workflows, business data, and pipelines. * Stronger governance requirements to protect permissions & compliance. Why Developers can Count on this Integration? * Copilot boosts productivity - PMs can spin up sites, templates, or content blocks in minutes. * Developers are freed from routine tasks and can focus on higher-value areas, like information architecture, integrations, and business logic. How to Ensure a Smart and Secure Adoption? Like any powerful tool, Copilot delivers its best when paired with the right foundation. Developers play a key role in shaping that foundation by: * Designing robust metadata models * Enforcing standardized templates * Implementing role-based access with sensitivity labels With these practices in place, Copilot becomes a true process accelerator, helping teams move faster while maintaining consistency and security. In short, Copilot in SharePoint isn’t just about speed. It’s a call for developers to rethink how AI will shape the future of collaboration platforms. What do you think of this integration? Let us know in the comments! #SharePoint #Microsoft365 #Copilot #DigitalTransformation

There is something important going on since a long time back. The rise of Power Platform as an orchestration layer for the three MS backbone products #M365, #Azure and #Dynamics. Of course not only for internal use, which is probably where the major usage is throughout the world. The Dynamics part and M365/Azure have been separated for way too long. It's interesting to hear when collaboration tools personnel (M365) talk about Dynamics as something very "strange" but as Power Platform like something invented through M365. The infrastructure people looks at M365 and Power Platform like an alien, at least the Power Platform product as well. When I worked as application consultant within Dynamics I was an amoeba with both deep infrastructure competence as well as consultant within the application itself architecting solutions to handle pricing and rebate of articles to customers. Anyway, in Power Platform and especially in the power platform admin, the classic pages still shows the connection to Dynamics but they are getting abstracted away. Today, this is being less and less of a challenge but the #PowerPages still contains a lot of non-abstracted administrative pages for several objects. Still some tweaks needs to be at least understood in classic pages. At least now we can manage Power Pages sites in Power Platform ALM with solutions, pipelines etc. This makes it sure that we can work more seamlessly between environments to keep sure we handle variables correctly and have easier separation between types of environments. During my career I've been consulting within Dynamics, been playing around with CRM years ago, certified in Azure and M365 and I've seen how Microsoft is pushing new technology all the time. It's great to see all products in the toolbox as technologies with their own strength but at the same time multiplied when combined correctly. There are today not that many new products but instead more and more "integration layers" or "automation possibilities" like Graph API, Power Platform and AI through Copilot is supporting organizations to understand things behind these products are combinable. It's up to IT to take control over entire enterprise solution design and not look at the tools only. There is a great possibility to make use of what already exists and what is being developed further. Happy designing! Claudio @ Enknapp

🚀 Classic vs. Modern SharePoint Sites – and Their Impact on AI SharePoint has evolved tremendously — moving from Classic Sites to the more intuitive, flexible Modern Sites. This shift isn’t just about design; it’s a foundation for how organizations leverage AI-powered experiences today. 🔹 Classic Sites Rigid page layouts & heavy dependence on custom master pages Limited responsiveness for mobile users Customizations often rely on legacy frameworks (like JSLink) Slower adoption of new Microsoft 365 features 🔹 Modern Sites Responsive, fast, and built for collaboration Integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Search Supports SPFx (SharePoint Framework) for scalable web parts Ready for Copilot and other AI-driven experiences 💡 Why This Matters for AI Modern sites are the backbone of Microsoft 365 Copilot and other AI tools. Features like semantic search, document summarization, and automated workflows perform best when your content is in Modern Sites. Legacy Classic Sites may limit how effectively AI can index, interpret, and act on your data. 📈 Key Takeaway Migrating from Classic to Modern Sites isn’t just a UI upgrade — it’s about unlocking AI-powered productivity and future-proofing your SharePoint environment. Are you still running Classic Sites? Now’s the time to plan your migration and set your organization up for AI success. #SharePoint #Microsoft365 #AI #DigitalTransformation #Copilot

✨ Generative AI x SharePoint – Transforming SOP Projects ✨ In every organization, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) form the backbone of consistency, compliance, and knowledge transfer. But managing, updating, and making them accessible often becomes a time-consuming challenge. This is where the synergy of Generative AI and SharePoint comes alive. 🚀 ✅ AI-powered Content Drafting – Instead of starting from scratch, Generative AI can draft SOPs based on organizational policies, past documents, and compliance requirements. ✅ Smart Summarization – Long SOPs can be converted into easy-to-digest summaries, FAQs, or checklists directly within SharePoint. ✅ Conversational Access – Employees no longer need to scroll through endless pages. With AI + SharePoint integration, they can simply “ask” and get precise answers from stored SOPs. ✅ Continuous Updates – Generative AI can suggest revisions when policies or regulations change, ensuring SharePoint always reflects the latest version. ✅ Personalized Learning – New joiners can interact with SOPs in a Q&A format, making onboarding more engaging and effective. 🌍 The result? A living knowledge hub in SharePoint where SOPs are not just static documents, but interactive, intelligent guides—accessible anytime, anywhere. 🔗 Generative AI doesn’t replace human expertise—it augments it. By combining SharePoint’s robust document management with AI’s intelligence, organizations can save time, improve compliance, and empower employees with instant clarity. 💡 The future of SOPs is not about storing documents, it’s about creating a dynamic knowledge ecosystem—and AI + SharePoint together make it possible. #GenerativeAI #SharePoint #DigitalTransformation #SOP #KnowledgeManagement #FutureOfWork

AI to resolve SharePoint mess https://lnkd.in/d4Rj--Cw Not clear how it would deal with really messy environments, but at least on paper it might help. And AI output quality depends a lot on data quality in your tenant. It seems that to help AI we need another AI 😊 SharePoint agent can add structure to a messy library by generating metadata (like product name, type, vendor, etc.) which appears as AI generated columns and then new view can be saved. Also, it allows to create rules that will notify you about certain files being added. It can also detect stale content on your pages, suggest to retire obsolete pages, fix broken links and even help create new pages from scratch. Of course, Copilot agents require licenses, which is another investment on top of a pay of someone clicking its buttons and doing prompts. The article has interactive demo, which is nice way to learn about this new feature.
