GPT-5 marks another shift in capability density however it was not the step change in performance that many were expecting. In this piece I want to explore where we seem to be, some of the improvements we may need to get to AGI and (stargazing a bit) what could be required to get to super intelligence. https://lnkd.in/eTS3NFcG

In an AI-first world, a key determinant of success is how effectively and how quickly organisations convert resources into adaptive intelligence. Companies can be usefully thought of, similar to generative models, as structures of prediction and correction that adapt through feedback loops. What’s different now is that these loops are increasingly agentic and observable, making organisational intelligence both measurable and immediate. This reframes what both founders and investors should prioritise. For founders, the challenge is not only to build AI first products but also to create AI first organisations that sustain responsiveness as they scale. For investors, value add may come from helping companies design for organisational intelligence - helping to ensure that founder priors and capabilities continue to shape the organisation day to day over a longer period than in the traditional playbook. Organisational intelligence is the meta-moat that amplifies all others. I go deeper on this below. https://lnkd.in/eqAxyDeD

I’ve been diving into the internals of AI systems lately, not just calling APIs, but actually understanding how retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) works. Here’s my beginner takeaway: Chunking splits text into small, overlapping pieces that fit model limits. Embeddings turn each chunk into an array of floats that represent meaning in a high-dimensional space. Vector databases store those vectors and find the closest ones to a query using clever indexing (like HNSW). Cosine similarity measures closeness by angle, not length, so it’s all about direction in semantic space. End result: query in → vector search → relevant chunks → LLM answer. Once you break it down, it feels a lot less like magic and more like just another set of tools to build with. Full write-up here: https://lnkd.in/dW6juSud

Our knowledge graph editor, Genie Jones, published a powerful guide on how to choose the right topic for a Waikay Topic Report 👍 Your topic acts as the lens that shows how four independent language models connect your brand to a concept and how you stack up against competitors. Pick it well, and you uncover both your strongest associations and the gaps you need to fix. https://lnkd.in/eiwyvnjf

Qwen Image Edit! Now live! I'm impressed - it performs better than Flux Kontext Dev in most cases and is near the quality of Flux Kontext Pro or Max. Difficult to say which is best so I'm launching Qwen Image Edit in Fenestra! Use it in the Conversational Edit preset - you will now be able to select all available Flux Kontext models and Qwen Image Edit. From our testing, prompt adherence and output quality is best from Max and Qwen. Simply ask for a change with natural language like try X material, try Y angle, "make it evening" etc. Raw unedited video below showing speeds and comparisons for each model with the same prompt 'try a timber façade'. Check it out, would love to know what you think.

The "SEO is dead" narrative? Officially busted. This past week, the two biggest players in the AI and search game confirmed what we already knew: organic visibility is more critical than ever, and the rules are just changing. Here's the punchy debrief: Google's Spam Update: A clear signal that low-quality, AI-generated content that lacks originality is on Google's hit list. AI Mode Going Default: The traditional "10 blue links" are becoming a thing of the past. The new battleground is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). OpenAI's New API: AI is becoming a key tool for internal workflows. Your knowledge bases and content need to be optimized for both humans and AI. This isn't the end of SEO, it's the evolution. Are you ready to adapt? Let’s have a little chat -> https://lnkd.in/dtMjYbcH #SEO #AI #ContentMarketing #Google #OpenAI #MarketingStrategy

💡 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗧𝗶𝗽: 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 ≠ 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗔𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲) Startup life = constant debugging chaos. Sometimes it’s Gemini-CLI making up methods. Sometimes it’s me chasing a collapsing chatbot bubble. And sometimes… it’s Google reminding me my “clever hack” was never supported in the first place. 😅 If you’ve been using 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝘿𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙩 for prototypes (guilty ✋), bad news: • The thumbnail?id=YOUR_ID trick is officially dead. • Same for lh3.google.com • Google closed the door with a big “working as intended.” something about third-party cookies blah blah... 👉 Translation: time to move on. Here are your options going forward: 1️⃣ Use the embed pattern described in a Google engineer’s blog post https://lnkd.in/eznrac4x 2️⃣ Move files to a proper hosting solution (Google Cloud Storage, or any static hosting provider). 3️⃣ Proxy files through the Google Drive API with your own infra (Cloud Functions + CDN) — watch out for those egress costs. 4️⃣ Or use a hosted proxy service. Dumb? yes. Tedious? yep. Glamorous fixes? Nope, but it beats explaining to your client why their chatbot’s logo vanished mid-demo. 💀 Lesson of the day? Even your “temporary hacks” need an exit plan. ----------- In a market flooded with generic automation, the future belongs to brands that 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩 — not just communicate. This next wave of AI isn’t here to replace your voice. It’s here to amplify it. #AI #StartupJourney #WebDevelopment #PWAs #GeminiCLI #NotAnotherChatbot
