The wonderful Nina Vafea and Corina Fung share their insights working on Southwark SAFE Taskforce and SHiFT to discuss bottom up evaluation. "A bottom-up approach to evaluation can be powerful. It’s about ensuring our evaluations are not only technically sound, but also practical, relevant, and truly reflective of the on-the-ground reality. So, when you sit down to design an evaluation, ask yourself: Is everyone who should be at the table, actually at the table? Do we have all the voices needed to make this evaluation possible?"
Friday fuel for you to ChEW on! In our latest blog post, ImpactEd Group share how bringing 'on the ground' voices into evaluation improves the quality of evaluation and the culture around it. Decent consumer segmentation can help to effectively encourage the adoption of #heatpumps through interventions that help overcome specific barriers (e.g., high installation costs, lack of awareness, property suitability) and leverage motivators (e.g., environmental benefits, lower bills) for each group. Nice project from Elin Price and the Nesta team. https://lnkd.in/ej8AZTsp

CSR With Purpose: The New Procurement Power Play At the start of this year, the law changed. Every public tender in the UK must now include a minimum 10% weighting for social value. In some cases, it’s even higher. That means: 🛑 If your business can’t show evidence of real CSR with purpose — you don’t just score lower, you risk losing the contract entirely. ✅ If you can demonstrate impact through purposeful partnerships with communities and charities, you gain a decisive competitive edge. This isn’t about writing a glossy CSR statement. It’s about proving: ✔️ Your work creates jobs or opportunities for disadvantaged groups ✔️ You’re reducing inequality or improving wellbeing locally ✔️ You’re building partnerships that deliver real, measurable change CSR with purpose is no longer an optional extra. It’s procurement currency. And it could be the difference between winning — or walking away empty-handed. 📌 On Friday, I’ll share how businesses can move beyond compliance to build winning bids through real, measurable impact. #CSRWithPurpose #BetterBusinessRealImpact #SocialValue #Procurement #FutureOfBusiness #WinningTenders #CommunityImpact

A lot of great insights in this recent piece from Candid on building and maintaining trust in the nonprofit sector. It’s a powerful reminder of how trust drives impact—and how easily it can be lost. One part that really struck me is the flipside: what happens when people lose trust in a nonprofit. We’ve been having a lot of conversations lately about donor stewardship and how much of a difference it makes to take just a few extra moments to show appreciation and clearly communicate the impact of a donor’s support. From my perspective, the biggest driver of donor mistrust right now? The constant turnover of development staff. When the person responsible for building relationships and making promises to donors leaves, and the organization doesn’t thoughtfully transition those relationships, donors are left feeling unappreciated—and unsure if their contributions still matter. It’s not just about who asks for support. It’s about how we honor the relationships that support is built on.
Nonprofits continue to be one of the most trusted sectors in the U.S. Independent Sector’s Dr. Akilah Watkins highlights how nonprofits can earn and strengthen that trust. Read her full article here: https://lnkd.in/gaEidW6h
