Instagram just rolled out new features — and they’re getting mixed reviews. 🔁 The wins: Reposts: Instagram’s new Repost button (à la TikTok) makes it easier for users to share content they love — and for your content to be reshared. Reposts show up in followers’ feeds and live on a dedicated tab, giving your brand more chances to be discovered organically. Bonus: original creators and brands are credited, so visibility = value. Friends Feed: Think of it as the old activity feed, but for Reels. This new tab shows the public content your friends are liking and commenting on which is great news for brands and creators looking for extra eyeballs! 📍 The concern: Map: The new Map feature allows users to share their real-time location with followers — and many are reporting that it turned on by default. While this feature is designed for discovery and local engagement, privacy concerns dominate the conversation. At EGC, we’re tracking these updates closely to help clients adapt. Not every new feature is a fit but knowing what to lean into is how brands stay ahead. Let’s talk about how this impacts your content strategy: https://lnkd.in/eSV_CHKM

Instagram rolled out three updates yesterday that will shift the game for brands. They make the platform feel more human again and give your audience new ways to move your content. Reposts are now built in. If you post something great, it doesn’t have to fade after 48 hours. People can now reshare public Reels and posts with credit straight to their profile. That’s free distribution you didn’t have to buy. Friends tab in Reels. A feed showing what people you follow have liked, commented on or reposted. Every bit of engagement now has the potential to put your content in front of someone new who trusts the person who interacted with it. Instagram Map. An opt-in feature that lets friends see your last active location and explore local Reels, Stories and Notes from that place. For local businesses, events and destinations, this is native discovery happening right where decisions get made. The play is simple: make content so good people want to repost it without you asking. Tie your stories to real moments and places your audience would share with friends in person. And treat every like or comment as the start of a ripple that can carry your work far beyond your own feed. #instagramupdate #socialmediastrategy #contentmarketing #brandgrowth #socialproof #repoststrategy #digitalmarketing

Most people overcomplicate Instagram strategy. Obviously, great content will always win out. But on top of that, there are 2 small hacks that will give you a boost within the algorithm. Adam Mosseri, the Head of Instagram, just shared these insights worth knowing if you’re trying to squeeze every ounce out of your content: 1. Use the Edits app Videos created (or passed through) Meta’s new “Edits” app get a small boost. The catch? The interface feels like it was designed in 2008. I still edit outside of it, then import my finished video into Edits just before posting. That way, I get the reach bump without losing my mind. 2. Stop worrying about “niche engagement" You don’t have to engage only with content in your niche to grow. The algorithm doesn’t track what you watch. It only tracks what you create and how your audience responds. So go ahead—binge the pressure-washing reels. Your reach is safe. No magic bullets. Just two tweaks that might give you a small edge. Because on Instagram in 2025… A small edge is often the only edge you get.

🚨 Instagram Algorithm Updates You Need to Know in 2025 🚨 Instagram is changing the game again this year, and if you’re a brand, creator, or marketer these updates are worth paying attention to: ✨ Original Content Wins – Reposted or recycled content is being pushed down. The algorithm is rewarding creators who bring something fresh to the platform. ⏱ Retention > Reach – The first 3 seconds of your content matter more than ever. If people stick around, your reach grows. 📩 DMs Drive Discovery – Instagram confirmed that DMs are now one of the strongest signals of interest. If people share your content in private chats, the algorithm boosts it. 📊 Saves & Shares Beat Likes - Likes are nice, but saves, shares, and meaningful interactions are the new gold. 🌀 New Features Like “Blend” - Users can now share and experience each other’s Reels feed in DMs, making your algorithmic personality social. 🔍 SEO on Instagram – Keywords in your bio, captions, and hashtags are becoming more powerful for discoverability. 👉 What this means: The algorithm is rewarding authentic storytelling, strong hooks, and genuine engagement. If your audience feels connected enough to save it, share it, or DM it your content will fly. Are you adjusting your 2025 content strategy to these shifts? #InstagramUpdates #SocialMediaStrategy #DigitalMarketing #ContentMarketing

Content won't magically recover reach once you take a hiatus... 💬 Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, officially confirmed that taking extended breaks from posting (1-2 months) directly impacts your reach on this platform. This means, for businesses relying on organic reach, your content strategy needs to prioritise sustainability over sporadic bursts of activity. Instagram's algorithm, and many other social media algorithms, prioritise accounts that regularly add value to the platform. When you disappear for months, you're essentially telling the algorithm you're not an active brand, making them less likely to share your content with their users. But, with that being said, this doesn't mean posting for the sake of posting ❌ 🍃 Quality beats quantity every time. If your posts add no value to your audience, they're as impactful as not posting at all when it comes to genuine engagement. At Beech Web Services Limited, we always tell our clients it's better to post one valuable piece of content weekly than to flood feeds with filler content daily, then disappear. If this sounds overwhelming, think about the last blog post you added to your website, or a YouTube video going into detail on your products or services. How have you used this content on social media? 💡 Repurposing is a quicker, often simpler way of generating valuable, engaging content without the worry of generating new ideas. You can then also use scheduling tools to get ahead with this content and maintain that consistency, even during your busiest periods. Your audience follows you for value, not volume. Being consistent should serve your community, not just the algorithm. What's your biggest challenge with staying consistent on social media? Let me know 👇 P.S. This post is in place of a tangent today about Taylor Swift's new album announcement (already pre-ordered), so I hope you find these tips useful ❤️🔥 #SocialMediaMarketing #SocialMediaManagement #SocialMediaTips #InstagramUpdates #SocialMediaUpdates #ContentCreators

What if I told you that Instagram gives you a free way to test content before you fully commit? That’s exactly what trial reels are. Instead of overthinking or spending hours polishing a post, you can drop a simple reel to 'trial' your idea. The algorithm then shows you very quickly whether people care or not. I’ve been using trial reels consistently and the results have been great so far. One of my accounts grew by over 12000 followers in two weeks, largely because I stopped guessing what would work and let the audience decide for me. Here’s how you can use it: - Post quick, low-effort reels around your content ideas. - Double down on the ones that pick up traction. - Repurpose or upgrade the winners into polished content. - Forget about the ones that flop and move on. Trial reels save time, reduce creative block, and give you real data instead of assumptions. In marketing, speed and iteration beat perfection every single time.

Instagram has just rolled out two powerful new features that are set to change the way content is shared and discovered—making life a lot more exciting for creators, marketers, and brands. 1. Repost Posts and Reels. ➡️ You can now share public Reels and feed posts directly to your followers, similar to a retweet or TikTok duet. ➡️These reposts are credited to the original creator and appear in a new “Reposts” tab on your profile for easy access. Why it matters: ➡️Creators get amplified reach—your content can now appear in the feeds of users who don’t follow you. ➡️Brands can use reposts to showcase user-generated content, influencer shoutouts, and testimonials on a persistent tab—boosting credibility and community connection. 2. Friends Tab in Reels. ➡️A new “Friends” tab now appears at the top of the Reels feed, showing content your friends have liked, commented on, or reposted. ➡️Includes privacy controls—you can hide your activity from others or mute specific friends. How This Helps: ➡️Brands gain deeper insights into peer-driven trends, helping you craft content that resonates with shared interests. ➡️Encourages more discovery via conversations, elevating engagement in group or community contexts. How to Use These Features: To Repost: 1. Tap the repost icon beneath any public post or Reel. 2. (Optional) Add a note via the thought bubble prompt. 3. Confirm, and your reposted content appears in your followers’ feeds and your Reposts tab. To Use the Friends Tab in Reels: ➡️Tap the Friends tab at the top of Reels to explore what your connections are enjoying. ➡️Manage your privacy preferences by navigating to Settings → Activity in Friends tab to hide or mute your own activity. 🔄 Repost this if you liked the info and want to share with your connections.

Instagram’s New Repost Button Could Boost Your Reach Instagram has rolled out a new Repost button and it’s worth paying attention to if you create content. You can now repost public Reels and feed posts straight to your own feed. The original creator is always credited, and there’s now a dedicated Reposts tab on your profile. For brands and creators, this means your best content can travel further, faster, not just through Instagram Stories, but directly into other people’s feeds. Other updates in this release: • A Friends Tab in Reels, showing what your connections are watching and reposting (with the option to hide your own activity). • An Instagram Map feature, allowing you to share your real-time location with selected friends and explore content near you (fully opt-in). The opportunity: Create posts people want to reshare, think quick tips, eye-catching visuals, and content that sparks conversation and you could see a lift in both reach and engagement. #socialmedia #instagram #socialmediatips #JDRGroup

If you’re a content creator and aren’t using Instagram's "Trial Reels" feature, you’re completely missing out on insane potential reach. HOW THIS WORKS: When you post a "Trial Reel", Instagram will only show that video to people who are NOT currently following you, so you'll reach an entirely new audience every single time. It's essentially free, paid reach (if that makes sense lol). This feature is also AWESOME because if you decide to re-post content from that past that performed super well, you won't annoy your current audience. So you can spam re-posts. A lot. And it works. I've had Trial Reels hit over 7 million people before. You will need to have a verified IG account to use this feature, but it's 1000% worth the money for the subscription. Try it out!
