A 22-Hour Treasure Hunt in Bangalore

A 22-Hour Treasure Hunt in Bangalore

The journey began in Hyderabad at 3 AM. With half-sleepy eyes and a strong coffee in hand, I set out to catch my early morning flight. The flight itself was smooth, but the true AI challenge of the day was waiting outside the airport — navigating Bangalore traffic. Honestly, if AI can ever master that puzzle, it deserves a Nobel Prize!

By the time I reached the venue, the fatigue was real — but the moment I walked into the GE Healthcare program, the energy was infectious. What unfolded over the next 22 hours was nothing less than a non-stop knowledge treasure hunt, carefully orchestrated by Mr. Ravi Bharadwaj and his fantastic team.

The Keynote and the Spark ✨

I had the honor of delivering the keynote on “The Future of Acute Care: Predictive, Proactive, Personalized Care.” Sharing my thoughts with such a vibrant audience was enriching — but what struck me most was how perfectly the rest of the day reflected these themes in action.

Co-Creation with Startups 💡

The co-creation session was a highlight, with SaveMom, Z Health, and Aabo bringing refreshing ideas to the table. SaveMom’s baby cry decoding technology was a personal favorite — such a brilliant example of predictive care wrapped in empathy. These young innovators reminded me that while we polish our diamonds, the future often lies in spotting the raw stones.

Fireside Foresight 🔥

The Fireside Chat with Dr. Uma Nambiar and Dr. Rakesh Mullick was like opening a window to 2030. Their insights painted a clear picture of where Digital health care is heading — blending clinical foresight with pragmatic optimism.

Research Meets Bedside 🏥

The panel discussion on “Research to Bedside” was another gem. Dr. Subramanyam Mahankali, Dr. Thangaprabhu, and Dr. Vishwanath Krishnamurthy, Mr Varma PSK under Ravi’s excellent moderation, turned what could have been an academic debate into a living, breathing conversation about how innovations really reach patients. The EMR stories they shared were raw, real, and a reminder of the hurdles and hope in informatics.

The Lab, Posters, and Pearls 🔬

The Kiosks/demos and lab demonstrations were like walking into a treasure vault — each corner revealing new pearls of innovation. From fundamental research to practical applications, you could feel the engine of healthcare innovation humming strongly behind the scenes.

Diamonds, Gems, and Raw Stones 💍

By the time I rushed back to the airport, navigated the traffic one more time, caught the flight, and finally collapsed into bed at 1 AM, my pockets were overflowing. Not with souvenirs, but with treasures:

  • Diamonds from the wisdom of senior physicians.
  • Gems from the brilliance of tech experts.
  • Raw precious stones from the startups daring to reimagine care.

It was a 22-hour marathon of ideas, conversations, and inspiration.

My Heartfelt Thanks 🙏

A big thank you to Ravi and the GE Healthcare team for putting together such a platform — not just an event, but a marketplace of ideas, where every discussion added sparkle to the larger vision of acute care.

I returned home exhausted but richer — not in sleep, but in inspiration. And that, I believe, is the kind of wealth that truly matters.

With gratitude and admiration, Dr. AVS Suresh Keynote Speaker “The Future of Acute Care”
