Recent Publications
• New work from National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Microsoft, and Twist Bioscience ( James Diggans ) demonstrates that AIPD tools are not yet powerful enough for wholesale redesign. Read "Experimental Evaluation of AI-Driven Protein Design Risks Using Safe Biological Proxies" by clicking here.
• From our very own Linya Wang, PhD, her recent publication presents new potential for cancer immunotherapy strategies. "A multi-faceted discovery strategy identifies functional antibodies binding to cysteine-rich domain 1 of hDKK1 for cancer immunotherapy via Wnt non-canonical pathway."
• A new study from Philipp Rathert and team in Cell Reports Methods presents an innovative CRISPR screening platform (CRISPRgenee). They used high-quality, custom gRNA libraries from Twist to support this work ( Julian Jude, PhD ). Read "CRISPR GENome and epigenome engineering improves loss-of-function genetic-screening approaches" here.
Podcasts
The Grammar of RNA
Theral Timpson, host of Mendelspod , and Gavin Knott molecular biologist at Monash University and former postdoc in the Jennifer Doudna lab, discuss the “shapeshifting paradox” of RNA—and how structural biology is being upended by AI.
Can Math and AI Replace Some Biology in Drug Discovery?
Tune in to hear Theral Timpson and Aridni Shah of immunitoAI answer these questions and discuss the reinventing of how antibody therapies are developed on Mendelspod.
