Beechcraft C90 gear collapse
A Beechcraft C90 King Air with registration N9VC experienced a collapse of its main landing gear during taxiing operations at Olaya Herrera Airport in Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia, causing the aircraft to partially settle on its structure. Airport emergency services responded immediately, with no injuries reported among crew or ground personnel. The incident led to substantial structural damage to the aircraft, and the Colombian civil aviation authority initiated an investigation to determine technical causes and assess maintenance and towing procedures. Air India crash families file lawsuit against Boeing and Honeywell
Families of four victims of Air India Flight 171, which crashed during take-off from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India on June 12, 2025 killing 260 people, have filed a lawsuit in Delaware Superior Court against Boeing and Honeywell alleging defective fuel cutoff switches on the Boeing 787. The complaint cites a 2018 FAA advisory recommending inspection of the switches, maintenance records showing throttle module replacements in 2019 and 2023, and cockpit recordings indicating the captain cut engine fuel flow, though India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau preliminary report found all airworthiness directives were met. Boeing declined comment, Honeywell has not responded, and aviation experts expressed doubt that the switches could be inadvertently activated. Click image above for reading the related post!
Controller asleep leaves Air Corsica flight circling for one hour
On 15 September 2025, Air Corsica flight XK777, an Airbus A320 operating from Paris-Orly to Ajaccio, Corsica, France, was forced to hold for approximately one hour after repeated attempts to contact Ajaccio tower failed, as the duty controller was later found asleep with the runway lights turned off. The crew, unable to establish communication or receive landing clearance, contacted airport firefighters and the gendarmerie, who gained access to the control tower and woke the controller, after which the flight was cleared to land with a total delay of 78 minutes. The incident, now under review by the French civil aviation authority DGAC, has raised concerns over single-controller night staffing, fatigue management, and the absence of redundancy in tower operations at regional airports. SARPcheck global aviation safety audit: A wet lease, codeshare, ACMI Booster
SARPcheck is a new global aviation safety audit that assesses airline compliance with select ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) across defined ICAO Annexes. The primary aim of this audit is to enhance global flight safety while providing an affordable and accessible tool to facilitate ACMI, wet lease, and codeshare operations. The ICAO Annexes and SARPs that SARPcheck focuses on are specifically those outlined by regulatory and industry standards, including FAA requirements for overseeing foreign air carriers and the TCO approval elements of EASA.
SARPcheck is governed by a London-based not-for-profit organization, the Safety Audit Review Partnership (SARP Ltd.), which accredits Safety Quality Organizations (SQOs) such as AEROTHRIVE to conduct these audits globally. Detailed information about the program, including the SARPcheck Program Manual (SCPM), informative brochures, and the latest updates, is available on our website at https://aerothrive.com/audits/sarpcheck-audits/.
