A Better Way of Training: Why Conversations Matter More Than Ever
Hello LinkedIn friends,
You might’ve seen one of my recent posts that took on a life of its own—a simple Sunday question about “mildly inconvenient burglaries” led to 800+ comments and a whole lot of laughs. But also? Some powerful reflection.
Because even when we’re having fun, people want to talk. They want to connect. And that’s the heart of what I do—creating spaces where people feel heard, supported, and yes, sometimes challenged (in a good way).
Online Support, Same Real Values
I work with anyone who delivers training across the UK, guiding them through how to deliver training more effectively and ensuring that ALL learners get the most out of the training. Do you know how many poorly put-together courses there are?
We have created an online support platform for trainers designed to be affordable, flexible, and most importantly, non-judgmental.
Because not knowing something doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you’re human. And learning should always be accessible.
🔁 Real-World Learning Vs Tick-Box Training
Here’s the truth: ticking boxes isn’t training. Real learning happens in conversation. It happens when someone says, “I don’t understand,” and feels safe enough to ask for help.
It’s why I emphasise supportive training for those delivering training.
If someone calls me at 8 p.m. needing help uploading something, I’ll help—not because it’s in a contract—but because that’s how good support works.
🧭 A Better Way of Life
On the podcast I co-host, A Better Way of Life, we talk about these things often. Not with fancy slides or buzzwords, just honest conversations about what care could be if we led with empathy, community, and common sense.
Because training doesn’t start with a manual. It starts with listening. And we need more of that in every sector.
🙌 You’re Not Alone
If you're a trainer who feels I want to do this even better, I’m here—not with judgment, but with support, straight talk, and solutions.
And yes, maybe the odd conversation about socks, batteries, or stolen microwave plates. Because a little humour makes the learning stick—and a little kindness makes all the difference.
Here’s to doing training better. Together.
Warmly, Marianne Mills

You have an idea! - I’ll turn that idea into an accredited training course that will both engage learners and EARN YOU MORE MONEY! Start with a scribble, an AI creation or just what is in your head.
