Bloomberg Tech London 2024, held on October 22nd at The Brewery in London, brought together tech experts, visionaries, and industry leaders to tackle pressing questions around trust in tech, data security, cybersecurity, and AI. The event was hosted by Bloomberg News ' Caroline Hyde and Bloomberg Technology's Tom Giles , alongside a group of highly knowledgeable Bloomberg journalists.

The panels covered a range of topics, starting with "Securing Trust, Boosting Productivity," where Bas Burger , CEO of BT Group Business, shared that "9 out of 10 business leaders in the companies we serve are very, very worried at the pace of technology change."

Christophe Fouquet of ASML highlighted the importance of tech regulations and the chip industry, noting, “Every government wants to have a company like ASML in Europe.” Similarly, Fabricio Bloisi , CEO of Prosus Group , warned, “If you are a big company and you think life is going to be as it is today, bad news for you—you are in big trouble.” Rene Haas , CEO of Arm, remarked, “Every workload, whether it's an application, an operating system, or AI, runs through Arm in some way.”

There were also insightful discussions, including a conversation with Jeanie York , CTO of Virgin Media O2 , and Wayne Ting, CEO of Lime Bike. John Jumper, Director at Google DeepMind and Nobel laureate in Chemistry, discussed AI’s role in transforming structural biology and drug discovery. A networking lunch sponsored by Nokia , featuring an interactive activation called Exponential Connects, provided further opportunities for engagement. A panel on data protection in the cloud featured Shlomo Kramer , Co-Founder & CEO of Cato Networks , Roy R. , Co-Founder & VP of R&D at Wiz.io, and Ellison Anne Williams , CEO & Founder of Enveil . This was followed by a discussion on the robot revolution with Kristen Shannon , COO of Dexory , and David Reger, CEO of NEURA Robotics , who introduced NEURA Robotics’ 4NE-1 humanoid robot that interacted with the audience.

Tamlin Bason , Technology & Policy Analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence , led an insightful session on AI regulations. Additionally, the live podcast recording of Bloomberg’s Elon, Inc. was hosted by Bloomberg 's Max Chafkin , together with David Papadopoulos . The session welcomed Devika Shanker-Grandpierre , Founder of JSG Strategy, as a guest speaker.

A critical conversation on cybersecurity was held with Stephen Phipson CBE , CEO of Make UK , and Paul Savill , Global Practice Leader for Networking & Edge Compute at Kyndryl . The day also featured a discussion on smart health technology, where Tom Hale of ŌURA pointed out, "While many people think of a wearable as a fitness tracker...that's only one of the use cases, and maybe not even the most important one."

The event concluded with a session on "Positive Returns, Positive Impact" featuring Edward Bussey , CEO of Oxford Science Enterprises , and Dr Mohsin Pirzada , Head of Funds at Qatar Investment Authority , who highlighted the role of sustainable investing and ESG initiatives. Bussey emphasized that societal and environmental impact are critical outcomes, with both aspects being equally important.

That should be amazing, Can this tech explain what Bloomberg Live was? I find that to be more insightful than this labeling of what was an index group linked to show the power or indifference in equity? How does history repeat itself? A Bloomberg Tech ? What’s the valuation ?
