Bring on 2025

2025 Resolutions

We are nearing the end of another year, my friends.

People hate resolutions.

Not this girl.

I love them. What’s my favorite holiday? New Year’s.

Remember getting your new notebooks for school? Am I the only one who gloried in those pristine pages and vowed not to doodle on the crisp bright pages? A new page. A fresh start.

What could be better?

We have fresh starts every morning - every minute, honestly.

But, closing out a year and opening the door to a new one is symbolic – it’s an opportunity. It’s permission to say goodbye to mistakes and failures and hello to optimism.

I love setting goals and intentions and casting my web of desires and wishes, hopes and dreams, out into the universe. Then, I like to plan the building blocks of how I can see my life unfolding.

I invite you to join me.

I encourage you to consider these questions as we close out 2024:

What am I yearning for and how can I honor that yearning?

How can I give to my community in a way that brings me joy?

How can I balance pursuing my dreams and goals with celebrating the life I’m living now?

However you choose to honor the passage of time –reflection, being present, allowing the day to act upon you as it will, or entering into each moment with an intention, I hope you take a minute to celebrate YOU!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Girls Empowered

EMPOWERMENT

Empowerment is one of those words that feels - well - is it too redundant to say powerful? My guess is yes. The Latin prefix em means in or on and is often used to indicate “putting into.”

Power can mean to exert authority. In the world right now, there is such a misuse of power, that even the word can feel off-putting.

But, when you look at the Latin origin of the word Power, you come to the word-Possible.

Now that, I like - Possible.

If we walk through 2025 empowered to reveal our possibilities and potential while helping others do the same, I think that’s a win.

Why am I exploring the word “empowerment?”

I’m the keynote speaker for the 10-Year Anniversary Dinner for Girls Empowered. What could be better? To help girls see and feel and acknowledge their own power seems to be one of the highest callings.

There’s more…

Also (gulp) speaking of empowerment, I have accepted the gracious invitation of the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic to Dance for Buck$. I am going to uncover my dance potential - which might be buried deep within the resources of my being!

I, along with five other people, will learn to dance from the professionals at Fred Astaire Dance Studios Home - Doylestown and compete, raising money for the Clinic. First of all, my sympathies go out to my teacher. He has his work cut out for him with me.

In any case, I think this is empowerment. Presenting a keynote. Learning a new skill in public. I’m stepping out onto the limb of possibility.

I humbly ask for your support. If you can show up at either event, I am grateful. If you can contribute to these programs, I am deeply appreciative – and, I promise that your dollars are going to good use.

If what you are able to offer at this time, is emotional support, I’ll gratefully take it!

Whether you like a post, follow these organizations, or even step into the world of your own possibility in a way that serves you and the community, I appreciate it – and you.

Consider this your invitation to step into the uncomfortable world of possibility. It may be uncomfortable, but it’s also invigorating and transformative. That means it’s worth it.

Finally…

Last but not least, as many of you know, I serve as Director of Mission Delivery at The Liv Project. Youth suicide is preventable. Suicide is one of the leading causes of death of young people. Did you know that simply by talking openly and courageously about suicide and mental health we can help to stop someone from taking their own life? Please join me in this mission to turn the tide of youth suicide. I humbly implore you to donate to The Liv Project, no matter how small or large.

Let’s create a world where we care for each other and one in which we aren’t afraid to talk about the big stuff, the meaningful stuff, and the things that matter.
