Call for Content: Your Free Ticket To Knowledge 2020 💸

Knowledge 2019 Expo Hall

An upcoming Knowledge Conference offers a whole host of opportunities! You can attend a myriad of sessions, learn about the newest and upcoming features of our software, interact with a worldwide community of like minds, and even meet 1-on-1 with ServiceNow's top leadership. However, one opportunity that a lot of people miss out on is the ability to participate in all of that awesomeness... for free! Considering the cost of the full conference alone sits at approximately $1600 (depending on who is registering and when), that's an insanely large prize. So the question remains: how does one do so?

As of today (December 10th), the annual Call for Content is officially open! What that means is that ServiceNow has opened its doors for customers to submit their stories to share on the Knowledge floor. No matter the intended presentation style, product, or target audience, we're accepting any and all proposals to ensure Knowledge 2020 is the finest and most well-rounded event it can be. Do you want to engage and motivate your fellow peers? Do you want to inspire and help others evolve the Now Platform? Do you have a passion for Knowledge? If the answer is yes, we want to hear from you! After the closing date of January 7th, 2020 has passed, a committee will deliberate and select which proposals have made the cut. If your team is one of those selected and you follow the subsequent process to become Knowledge-ready, the full conference price is waived entirely.

How to Submit a Content Proposal

The journey to presenting at K20 begins by first proceeding to this link here. This will take you to the Call for Content website where, after logging in, you can begin your proposal by clicking the "Start Proposal" button.

The initial form is relatively short, asking the following a few questions about your intended presentation. Be prepared to defend what presentation you intend to do, details about your solution and ServiceNow history, as well as your background information.

After clicking "Continue," you will be instructed to provide the participants that will be delivering this content, so if you are collaborating with colleagues, ServiceNow Partners, or ServiceNow employees, this is where they should be listed.

Believe it or not, that's the final step! By doing the above, you're one step closer to winning you and your assembled team free tickets to K20. The final date for submissions is January 7th, so best to begin now before the holiday season really kicks off!

Tips for an ✨ Incredible ✨ Submission

By following the steps above, you will successfully complete a proposal to be a Knowledge 2020 Speaker. However, to perhaps give you an edge over the competition, peruse the tips below prior to clicking "Submit."

  1. Include a Compelling Title: what do all top-selling books and movies have in common? A concise, eye-catching title. You've got 80 characters to ensnare the committee's attention. If you work for a well-recognized brand, I would include that in the title for sure. Some of my favorites from Knowledge 2019 include "Everything as a Service for CERN Physicists!" and "Revving the Engines of Global HRSD at Nissan."
  2. Set the Stage: paint a clear picture of what this session will revolve around. What is the context? Why would people be interested? What is the value they get from attending?
  3. List What Challenges Are Solved: be explicit about the problem statement and the ins and outs of its scope.
  4. Sing Your Praises: this is not the time to be humble; describe in full detail how your solution helped your enterprise. How many people were impacted by this solution? What do their lives look like now compared to how they were before? Did the company recognize your efforts and reward you in any way? Let the committee know if that's the case.
  5. Deliver Results: obviously, feel-good stories are fun to listen to, but seeing results is what typically inspires change. Be sure to include any quantifiable results produced by your efforts. Those metrics could revolve around anything from a reduction in time, money-saved, KPIs improved upon, et cetera.
