Dallas Endoscopy Center 20th Anniversary
Last week, Dallas Endoscopy Center celebrated National ASC Month and its 20th anniversary by hosting Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) and staff from Rep. Julie Johnson's (D-TX) office for a facility tour and legislative briefing.
The event highlighted the value proposition of ambulatory surgery centers: delivering superior patient outcomes and efficiency, which generates significant savings for the healthcare system.
A key focus of our discussion was the Medicare Beneficiary Co-Pay Fairness Act (H.R. 3006). This bipartisan legislation is critical to leveling the playing field for Medicare patients by capping their coinsurance for ASC procedures at the same level as the hospital inpatient deductible. Enacting this policy would remove financial barriers for seniors and allow them to choose the most appropriate and cost-effective site of care.
We were honored that Rep. Crockett recognized the physician-founders and staff of Dallas Endoscopy Center for their two decades of service to the community.
Direct advocacy and engagement are essential to advancing sound health policy. We encourage our colleagues to collaborate on similar events to demonstrate the value of ASCs to lawmakers across the country.
