Digital Gurus & the future of digital recruitment

Digital Gurus & the future of digital recruitment

So, as I am sure some of you will have noticed, we have opened up an office in Manchester under the fantastic Toni Phoenix. I’m delighted for two reasons:

1. It allows us to work with the brilliant companies up North who are recruiting heavily and have a real need for a trusted and skilled supplier

2. We have a strong focus on promoting women into leadership within our business – and through her exceptional work, Toni helps us promote this philosophy to others. I want to say a massive well done to Toni and of course the teams in Sydney, Dubai and London.

It’s an exciting time to be in digital, but providing top notch talent in this area has never been harder - candidates are more in demand than ever. A skilled recruiter has to be more than a new business person now, they have to be able to attract and engage candidates, as well as battle against internal recruitment, red tape, ever-changing buying behaviour, a lack of understanding of the pace of the market and of course, be great at building and maintaining client relationships.

It’s my opinion that in the past 15 years of digital recruitment, the industry as a whole hasn’t really brought anything new to market - we are all still essentially transactional as an industry. As a result, I’m proud to say Digital Gurus have been building a bespoke offering, unique to digital recruitment, and I am excited to bring this product to the digital market in the next few months. The focus will be on large companies who are either hiring quickly/on scale or use large internal recruitment teams. This will give Digital Gurus a very real edge in the digital recruitment market.

Over the next year, we will be looking to grow our specialist service offerings with further hiring and expanding our niche areas of creative, tech, cyber security, ad technology and project management. There is a massive demand for good candidates in these areas and I believe in recruiting elite talent to work within our businesses in order to keep growing and satisfying client demand across all our offices.

I’m excited about the next step in Digital Gurus’ epic journey. 2016 has been a year of consolidation and has seen a superb performance from the team. 2017 will be a year of doing what DG does best - being different, being smart and actually addressing the issues that this market presents.

If you’re keen to join the DG family at our London, Manchester, Sydney or Dubai offices, send your CV to workforus@digitalgurus.co.uk .
