Digital Health Weekly - LinkedIn Edition
Dear friends,
Its the #LabourDay edition of this week's LinkedIn version of the curated summary of my weekly Digital Health News publication! Today we celebrate the millions of hard working individuals in #Canada and the #USA. We are part of this group...so it is time to appreciate each other and also ourselves for doing what we do. I really feel that the #LabourDay holiday is really overlooked. It is such a great opportunity to say thank you to our colleagues and friends. So from my family to yours - THANK YOU for your hard work, passion, dedication, entrepreneurship, and love for our country.
Remember that school zones are back in effect. Drive with care, don't be distracted, give yourself enough time, and please be patient.
This week I am highlighting a World Health Organization's call for #PublicConsultation into the updates of the Digital Health Interventions Classification. Check it out for sure!
You will also get insights into the #digitalhealth #innovation, details of a #patientengagement process called EnACT (and free access to the toolkit), great information about #healthcare #Cloud offerings and what to look for, and finally learn about a #research study that showed how #telehealth can help with #opioidcrisis.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!
Please share this #newsletter with others in your network on #linkedin
Thanks for showing me your love!
Connectedly yours,
Zen.
This week's key articles from The Digital Health Weekly:
Call for Public Comment - WHO Classification of Digital Health Interventions v1.0
MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! "WHO will work with an expert panel and expert groups to review relevant evidence on the application of the CDHI by stakeholders and provide recommendations for update. To enable the process of the update and to ensure the input and consideration of a global group of stakeholders, WHO is issuing this public call, appealing to researchers, government and public health stakeholders, technologists, healthcare providers, donors, implementers and other agencies that utilize (or aim to utilize) the CDHI to provide comments."
Hacking Healthcare Innovation
Biotricity Inc. (NASDAQ:BTCY)'s founder, Waqaas Al-Siddiq, gives his opinion on the innovation in the #DigitalHealth space. "Digital health has successfully integrated technology into healthcare by facilitating on-demand, whole-person monitoring. Whole-person care focuses on and tracks individuals from labs to diagnostics to disease management and intervention, when necessary. Yet, digital healthcare penetration continues to face many challenges. Those challenges threaten innovation by slowing our pace."
EnACT patient-centric design in digital health development
"New practical guide walks digital health entrepreneurs through the patient and public involvement and engagement process. Digital transformation could revolutionise healthcare, making for happier, healthier populations – but only if solutions are designed and deployed with patients at the heart. That’s why a newly published, evidence-based guide for digital innovators, from the Academic Health Science Networks (AHSN) Network, the University of Plymouth, and Boehringer Ingelheim, aims to shift the conversation from why to how."
Healthcare interoperability and industry cloud: What to look for
"There are many different healthcare interoperability and industry clouds on the market. Which one should you choose? Some offer information management pipelines, while others focus on digital imaging communications in medicine (DICOM). You might want to start by considering your goals and which cloud will help you meet them."
Study: Pandemic telehealth use linked to lower opioid overdose risk
"Receiving opioid use disorder-related telehealth services during the COVID-19 pandemic was associated with lower odds of overdose and better retention using medications like buprenorphine, according to a study published in JAMA Psychiatry."
Thanks Zen! I know the work that goes behind synthesizing these insights, appreciate it!
