But digitalisation is key to helping the industry stay competitive and ahead of the curve.
Made Smarter UK has been driving digital adoption on a rural industrial estate in West Lancashire. Five manufacturing companies have collaborated to create tailored digital roadmaps, investing in new technologies and enrolling employees in a Leading Digital Transformation programme.
The initiative has proven that digital transformation can happen anywhere, in businesses of any size.
“Seeing my neighbours thrive gave me the confidence to take the plunge,” said Rustic Tub founder Andy Walsh. “It’s just about spreading the word.”
