Realising the impact of automation and robotics

Hi Reader,

There's something of a North East flavour to today's Smart Factory Digital Briefing as we bring you news from The Tyne and Teeside as autonomous deployment gets underway at both Teesside International Airport and the Port of Tyne. ✈️⛴️✈️⛴️✈️⛴️

Continuing the theme of autonomy, we also feature one of the videos we captured from June's Smart Manufacturing & Engineering Week, where we sat down with Marco Chacin, Manufacturing Automation Systems Expert at Airbus.

Despite the clear benefits, fear still persists around the use of automation with the assumption that by bringing in robotics, humans will inevitably be moved out. 🤖🤖🤖

However, Marco was keen to stress the importance of people and robotics working together. He said: "There are many processes that will always be difficult for machines, so the cooperation between humans and AI systems, robots and automation will always be there." Check out the full video interview below. 🎥🎬🎥🎬🎥🎬
