An industry first: Shell cooling fluids certified by Intel for use in data centres worldwide

Shell’s immersion cooling fluids have become the first to be certified by a major chip manufacturer for use in data centres around the world. Compared with conventional air-cooling of servers and other equipment, these fluids reduce costs, energy consumption and emissions. This will be increasingly important as the growth in AI leads to greater use of energy-intensive data centres. Read more

We recently stopped processing crude oil into petrol, jet fuel, and diesel at our Wesseling site in Germany. Instead, we will produce premium oils for engines and cooling fluids using electrification. This is another step towards our target to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions from our operations by 2030.

Learn more about our target to become a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050.
