These employee benefits prioritize women in the workplace

Benefit managers should continue to advance health and wellness offerings that address every life stage, including pregnancy through perimenopausal and menopausal stages.

SUN LIFE OFFERS FULL-SPECTRUM SUPPORT: Education, transparency and access have formed the foundation of their menopause benefit offerings at Sun Life, as well as a partnership with Progyny, Inc., giving its workforce access to health professionals trained to support and treat women leading up to, during and after menopause. 

"How can we help women thrive at a stage of their career that should be the peak of what they're going to achieve, and their highest earning years?" says Helena Pagano, chief people and culture officer at Sun Life. "Open the dialogue. [Make it clear menopause is] a health topic we care about supporting."

BEST AND WORST STATES FOR PREGNANT WOMEN: Maternity leave benefits are a growing conversation between executives and employees navigating pregnancy challenges across the U.S. While many employers have launched caregiving benefit programs or all-encompassing support apps, not all companies are created equal.

The results found that the District of Columbia ranked the highest out of the top 10 states with recorded instances of discrimination against pregnant workers, coming in at 15.96 per 1 million women and more than double the 7.01 incidents in the second ranked Tennessee.
