UKREiiF day two

Forging stronger partnerships and cultivating the skills of tomorrow

Another insightful day at #UKREiiF! Our senior subject matter experts were front and centre again in crucial conversations shaping the future of property.

Carly Ersser started the day leading a panel on fostering strategic partnerships that align visions and drive innovation, joined by Ronen Journo. The panel took a deep dive into the power of collaboration, granular tactics, and building resilience when challenges arise. Key takeaways included making innovation the bedrock and approaching partnerships with humility – echoing the Government's impressive track record in leveraging shared spaces.

The focus then shifted to smaller, smarter estate where Laura Thomson brilliantly articulated our vision. The core message? Effective space utilisation and true flexibility are paramount. Workplace design guides are a valuable tool, but the real game-changer is interoperability – not just in IT, but in empowering people to seamlessly work and collaborate across any government building.

Finally, the focus then shifted to Building Skills for a dynamic property sector where Martin Keeler FCIPD joined discussions to highlight the urgency of upskilling across all professions, embracing digital advancements and agile ways of working. The panel explored cultivating a 'property mindset', fostering resilience, and strategically thinking to deliver impactful outcomes. It's not just about technical skills, it’s also about behavioural and cultural growth, nurturing leaders at every level.

Adding to the day's rich dialogue, our subject matter experts also contributed to key roundtables. We hosted a roundtable where Carly Ersser and Mark Bourgeois participated in "Solving the UK’s productivity puzzle: what part can offices play?", exploring how office estate strategies support productivity and regional growth. Mark also joined the "Unlocking the Potential: Delivering True Value in Urban Regeneration Projects" roundtable, which brought together central government, local authorities, developers, investors and community stakeholders to discuss impactful regeneration and integrating financial, social and cultural value. Georgina Dunn contributed to "The need for speed: Accelerating growth", discussing the correlation between housing and economic growth in the context of the New Towns Programme and planning reforms.

These vital discussions underscore our commitment to being at the forefront of property expertise, driving strategic partnerships, cultivating essential skills, and creating a future-fit estate.

Want to hear more and see these concepts in action? Join us today for the final day of UKREiiF 2025!

Great to take part in the morning panel on strategic partnerships. Thanks Carly Ersser for chairing and also to Ronen Journo Paula McLeay and Danielle Gillespie for being a fantastic panel. Thanks also Government Property Agency for invitation to share my thoughts - exactly what Strategic Partnerships should be about.
