From Idea to CRM in Minutes: The Power of AI-Driven Development

It’s been over 20 years since I last wrote serious code—back when Visual Basic 6 and ASP were my tools for building Windows apps and browser-based reports. Besides some PowerShell scripting, I’ve been out of the programming game for a while. But today, I decided to dip my toes back in, this time with the help of AI.
I tasked an AI with creating a simple CRM system to manage customers and their associated tasks. The result? In under 20 minutes, with just six iterations and a few tweaks I requested, I had a fully functional CRM app. It stored data in a database, featured clean, simple menus, and even supported CSV import and export.
The speed from concept to a working product was nothing short of mind-blowing. AI has slashed development time to levels that redefine what’s possible, turning ideas into reality almost instantly. This experience left me amazed at how far technology has come and excited for what’s next.
