HOW SUCCESSFUL SPEAKERS LEVERAGE LINKEDIN

You gave a great talk. The audience loved it. But a week later, they've forgotten. Speaking is one of the best ways to grow your influence and attract new clients. BUT - the real magic happens when you take that talk to LinkedIn and beyond.

BEFORE THE EVENT

  • Share that you are speaking and, if applicable, encourage others to attend or listen to your presentation.

  • Visuals are best, so select one that reflects the Talk - Venue & Topic.

  • TAG @____ the event organizers, other speakers, the venue, and sponsors.

  • Create a Video with a sneak peek of your topic and share that as well.

  • Once you have posted, highlight them in your Featured Section.

  • Finally, reach out to any other speakers to connect and meet at the event.

DURING THE EVENT

  • Share the experience by highlighting your arrival to the event

  • Shoot a "Behind-the-Scenes Video

  • Do a Video of Tips & Strategies for a successful talk

  • Sponsors are a great connection and taking the time to visit with them and capture photos are great for sharing (really expands your reach)

  • Take a Selfie with you and the audience (make sure the focus is on the audience)

  • Each time tag @___ all that are involved using the event #hashtags

AFTER THE EVENT

  • Post photos of the event of you with other speakers, attendees, sponsors, etc.

  • Post an On-Stage Reflection - about a question or key takeaway

  • Break down the main points into bite-sized LinkedIn posts over the following week - Tag @____ and use #Hashtags as well as include all speakers.

  • Reach out to any new speakers and also the attendees to connect (be sure to include a message about being at the event)

THE STAGE IS JUST THE BEGINNING

Speaking is one of the fastest ways to build credibility, expand your network and create a ripple effect of new opportunities. Every time you step on stage - you are sharing your message BUT you are also opening doors to...

  • Article - Podcast - Blog Interviews

  • Collaborations

  • Paid Speaking Gigs

  • Book Offers

  • New Clients

  • Future Business Growth

Don't let the long list of "I could" feel like yet another obligation. Tap the parts that feel like fun to find motivation to do well at one or two new items from the list.
