📈 Humanitarian needs on the rise in Afghanistan

Forced displacement from Iran

Afghanistan is facing a new wave of humanitarian needs as mass returns from Iran accelerate. Since January 2025, more than 1.9 million Afghans have crossed back from Iran, with over half deported under new directives from Iranian authorities.

The rapid influx is straining already limited resources at border areas and deepening vulnerabilities nationwide, with urgent gaps in shelter, health care, sanitation, and protection services.


Namibia facing the worst drought in centuries

The country has been under a national state of emergency since May 2024 as the worst drought in a century continues. Failed harvests, livestock deaths, and water shortages are driving severe food insecurity, with around 40% of the population facing crisis-level hunger.


Food & Nutrition Crisis Trends in Yemen

About 17 million people are projected to face acute food insecurity this year. Critical alerts spiked across indicators like food imports, fuel, and exchange rates, while many households are unable to meet basic food needs and are resorting to extreme coping strategies.
