Leaders Read#102
👋 Hello everyone,
Bryan Stevenson said, “Hope is our superpower. It’s what gets us to stand up when others sit down.”
Here are a few resources you might have missed:
📚 Book Summary:
This week's book is "Courage is Calling" by Ryan Holiday.
Courage Is Calling is the first book in Ryan Holiday’s series on the four Stoic virtues. The book explores how leaders can confront fear, embrace discomfort, and act decisively in the face of uncertainty.
One of my favorite takeaways from the book is this:
"Remember: Leaders are dealers in hope. Nobody wants to live in a world without a tomorrow, without a reason to continue, without some dot on the horizon they're aiming at. And if we want that, we're going to have to make it. For them and for ourselves, heroically."
✅ Actionable advice:
It's what Kouzes and Posner lay out in The Leadership Challenge: listen deeply to what gives others meaning and purpose. Then, shift more of your time to focus on the future, imagining the exciting possibilities. It is a reminder that hope isn't passive—it's a strategic tool you, as a leader, need to illuminate—connecting purpose to possibility.
Have a great week!
