Look into the eyes
Yesterday I happened to visit a friend in a school where she is working as a teacher. While waiting for her in the corridor I happened to see this eye-opening meeting that was going on in the adjacent classroom. It was a 6th standard classroom, where the students of that particular division were present along with their parents and the class teacher. Each kid was supposed to come in front of the class and present their views on how this year went by and what are their goals for the coming year. Kids took roughly around 2 minutes each to finish their presentation and went back. Even though I enjoyed listening to the aspiring goals of the young ones, one spot that struck me was, why none of the kids were looking straight while speaking? Most of them were looking down while some were looking onto one particular friend. What happened to their confidence level? Did they forget that the ones sitting in front of them were their loved ones? Why the head was not held high?
I believe with the current competition and concentration on teaching most kids will be scoring pretty well on subjects. I am sure most of you all will agree that if we develop in the current rate the world is going to be more competitive, the self-confidence and fearlessness is required more than the numbers that they score on the report card. It is time that we support our kids with life skills needed for them to be themselves. Its high time that the influencers makes the kids realize that failure is also a part of success, all are human beings and tend to make errors in their journey. The educators and parents, while our kids set their goal on achieving ‘n’ percentage for the academic year, let us set our goal on making them ready to face the world. When we give them the boost that they need they will create wonders beyond our expectations. Let our kids look into the eyes.
