The Messy Middle IS a Leadership Practice

The Messy Middle IS a Leadership Practice

There’s a particular moment in leadership that doesn’t get talked about enough.

It’s the moment after something ends, but before the next thing begins.

That’s where I am right now.

Last fall, I closed a group program I’d run for five years. I stepped away from leading retreats I used to love. At the time, it felt complete—like I had taken those experiences as far as they could go.

Since then, I’ve turned 60. I’ve entered a new season in life, leadership, and how I want to show up in the world.

The result?

I’m still coaching incredible women in STEM. I’m still leading the Executive Presence Accelerator. I’m still obsessed with helping women own their voice, their influence, and their power.

But I’m also building differently now.

Not just for momentum, but for meaning. Not based on what worked in the past, but on what feels right now. Not for performance, but for presence.

This isn’t a pivot. It’s a realignment. A pause. A deep breath. A recalibration.

If you’ve ever found yourself in that same messy middle—the in-between where clarity hasn’t fully arrived, but you know the old way is complete—I see you.

That’s not failure. That’s evolution.

And if you’re navigating your own version of this space right now? Come sit next to me.

We don’t have to rush the next move. Sometimes the boldest thing we can do is listen long enough for what’s true to finally speak.

P.S. I’m still offering Executive Edge Clarity Sessions for women leaders who are ready to lead with more authority, influence, and legacy—but want help figuring out how.

If you are interested in getting on a FREE call with me to figure it out, or just sit in silence, comment below, and I'll give you the link to book the call.
