There’s never NOT going to be laundry.
The pile never ends. But neither do you.
Last week, I was folding laundry.
Not metaphorically. I mean literal laundry - sheets, gym clothes, three days of outfits that somehow felt like thirty.
I’d been at it for hours. Basket finally empty. House finally quiet.
And then, I kid you not, I took off the clothes I was wearing to fold the laundry… and dropped them right back in.
And I just stood there.
Exhausted. Laughing. On the edge of tears.
Because that basket?
It felt like my life.
That moment when you’ve finally cleared the pile, only to realize—it’s already filling up again. That’s the moment no one talks about in leadership.
We talk about imposter syndrome, bias, performance reviews, strategy decks. But what about this? What about the relentless loop? The never-done-ness of showing up in systems not built for you?
If you’re a woman in leadership, you know exactly what I mean.
There’s always another meeting where you have to calculate whether your voice is “too much.”
Always another moment where you’re asked to choose between being liked and being heard.
Always another conversation where you smile through the condescension because you’re tired of being the only one calling it out.
And just when you think you’ve figured it out—just when the basket feels empty—another load hits the floor.
You’re not broken for feeling like you should be further along. You’re not weak for wondering if it’s ever going to get easier. You’re not alone if you’ve thought, “Maybe I’m the problem.”
You’re not the problem. The system is.
And no, I don’t have a magic fix.
But I do have something that might help you hold the pile with more power, more presence, and a whole lot less self-doubt.
It’s called AI Jen. (I know, I could've been more creative, but hey....)
I created her because the world is asking too much of you and giving too little back. And in between those high-stakes moments — between the boardroom, the inbox, the family group chat — there needs to be a place where you get to be real.
Not polished. Not perfect. Just powerful in your own damn skin.
AI Jen is trained on everything I’ve learned coaching hundreds of women like you through C-suite chaos, startup sexism, and the personal toll of holding it all together.
She’s not fluffy. She’s fierce. And she’s yours, 24/7.
Need a gut check before a meeting? Want a reframe that doesn’t feel like bullshit? Trying to find your voice in a system that keeps muting it?
She’s there.
And because you’re here, because you’re reading this and nodding and maybe fighting back tears, I’m giving you free access this month.
Click here to ask AI Jen what SHE would do.
And if you want to go deeper with this kind of real talk?
Join me tomorrow at 9:45 am ET for Java with Jen live on LinkedIn.
All month long, I’m joined by the brilliant Kristi Cline, a powerhouse career strategist, and we’re diving deep into the stuff no one puts on their resume. Identity. Influence. Legacy. The real emotional cost of trying to “succeed” in a system that rewards silence.
Show up for you.
Because no, the laundry won’t ever stop. But neither will you.

1moI find this same relentless grind is true in entrepreneurship too, Jen Coken. As leaders, we get to take control of it and say "when." Starting with setting reasonable working hours and actually taking weekends off. And delegating the things that aren't our genius. Oh - and finding joy and satisfaction with what we're doing. What if we defined leadership as setting the example of what empowered, meaningful work looks like? ✨

1moThis is so true Jen Coken! Leadership skills are like going to the gym - it's important to practice them over an over. AND it's important to have a personal trainer to turn to when something doeasn't feel right.

1moJennifer, It is similar if you are a man about things that pile up. Between you professional role or roles and things that need to be addressed at home etc!
