STAR Case Study: Elevating Experian's Connect Event with MPG
Situation
Experian, the world's largest data analytics and consumer credit reporting company, hosts the flagship customer event in the UK called Connect. This event, attended by 450 customers from the financial services industry, is a crucial platform for Experian to showcase its solutions and engage with its clients. The challenge is to create a memorable and visually stunning experience for the attendees.
Task
For the second consecutive year, Experian partnered with MPG, their preferred event production supplier since 1998, to elevate the Connect event. The task involved various aspects, including stage design, equipment specifications and supply, rigging, crewing, logistics, content creation, site photography, videography, and collaboration with a theming supplier to create an ice bar for the welcome dinner. The primary goal was to surpass the success of the previous year's event and provide a unique, immersive experience for the participants.
Action
MPG took a comprehensive approach to meet Experian's requirements. They developed a custom set design in the prestigious Fairmont Windsor Park hotel, incorporating Experian's brand colours dynamically. The proposed design allowed for creative use of lighting, enabling a seamless transition of the colour palette between sessions. MPG's role extended beyond stage design to include content creation, site photography, and collaboration with a theming supplier for the welcome dinner's ice bar.
The collaboration with Professor Hannah Fry as the event host added an extra layer of engagement. MPG worked diligently to ensure smooth execution, from the initial set design concept to the finished installation. Their efforts extended to the creation of a bespoke opening film, speaker walk-up stings, stream session opening films, welcome dinner animation, and a walk-in loop. The main plenary sessions, along with three parallel stream sessions, were orchestrated seamlessly, providing a diverse and visually captivating experience for the attendees.
Result
The event exceeded expectations, receiving high praise from Audrey Fairley, Head of Events and Creative at Experian. The custom set design, dynamic use of lighting, and collaboration with Professor Hannah Fry were highlighted as key contributors to the event's success.
