So, what next?
Lately, I’ve been asking myself two questions over and over again: ‘Why?’ and ‘What if?’
The first, in an attempt to make sense of what’s happening in the world. The second, out of curiosity - and perhaps courage as we try to navigate a path towards a better future.
Last week, I had the real privilege of meeting five inspiring, compassionate, and collaborative women on our Impact Leadership Programme. Together, we explored why the pace of change is still so slow and had deep, meaningful ‘what if?’ conversations:
What if all businesses were pro-social businesses?
What if all businesses measured success by their impact on people, communities, and the planet?
What if all business leaders were genuinely driven to support and strengthen their local communities?
It was also the first time we integrated Lego Serious Play into the programme; a powerful methodology that uses hands-on creativity to explore challenges and develop solutions. It was brilliant!
At the end of three transformative days, we left not just with insights but with stronger relationships and renewed determination to shape a better world. If you'd like to be part of the next Impact Leadership Programme, you can join the waitlist here.
What If… Communities Took the Lead?
We’ve all seen the devastating impact of climate change - floods, wildfires, food shortages, both right here in the UK and across the world. Food, water, and energy security are no longer distant concerns; they are challenges we must address now.
But here’s the good news: organisations and communities are stepping up with bold and brilliant solutions.
Library of Things – Why buy when we can share and swap? This initiative lets people borrow household items instead of buying them, saving money, time, and carbon. Find one near you.
Repair Cafés – Why throw away what can be fixed? With over 4,400 Repair Cafés and 65,000 volunteers worldwide, these community spaces are reducing waste and fostering connection. Could you start one in your community? Find out more here
Community Energy Projects – What if your community could generate and distribute its own power? Over 600 groups across the UK are making energy independence a reality. See how you can get involved.
What If… We Grew Our Own Future?
Food security is at the heart of resilient communities. That’s why I’m inviting you to a special screening of ‘Six Inches of Soil,’ a powerful documentary about regenerative farming and sustainable food systems.
Join us for an afternoon of learning, inspiration, and discussion with an expert panel featuring:
Claire Mackenzie – Film Producer, Six Inches of Soil
Hermione Dace – Policy Advisor, Tony Blair Institute for Global Change
Kate Bibby – Project Manager, Grozone Community Garden
🌱 Reserve your spot and be part of the conversation on building a food-secure future.
What If… You Had the Power to Make a Difference?
The truth is, you do.
We all do.
Every action, conversation, and choice we make shapes the future.
If you’ve come across great community initiatives or want to share what’s happening in your area, I’d love to hear from you.
Hit reply and let me know.
Because ‘what if?’ is not just a question - it’s an invitation.
An invitation to act with curiosity, courage, and compassion to shape a better world.
With hope and determination,
Donna
